Oh damn. It sounded like they had a history together.

She seethed, jutting her chin out. “Because I wanted to asshole. Let go of me!”

Cobra held her in place. “That makes no sense, Karma.” He released her and took her face into his hands. “Why did you leave?”

“Get over yourself, Cobra.” She pulled her face out of his hands. “The whole fucking world doesn’t revolve around you.”

“Dude, whatever the fuck is going on with you and Karma, there’s no time for it. We’re here about Jaynee.”

“Is Jay okay?” Karma managed to squeeze out between Cobra and her car.

“I need your help to get her and Sadie out of Vegas,” I tell her.

“Will it be dangerous?” Karma looked torn. “Because you know…” Her voice trailed as if she didn’t want to mention Nova.

“It could be messy. Maddy and Emilee will help in any way they can.”

Relief crossed her face. I wasn’t sure why I didn’t flat out say, help with your daughter. My gut told me revealing that tidbit in front of Cobra might fuck up our plans to rescue my girls. Not happening. I’d keep my mouth shut and stay out of their business.

“Okay, what do you need me to do.” She pushed past Cobra, going back inside.

He growled, following her. “We aren’t through Karma.”

“Jesus Christ, Cobra. Yes, we are and have been for years.”

I rolled my eyes. At least she agreed to help get my girls.
