“The Vipers know we went into their territory.” Storm leveled his gaze at me.

“How much do they want?” I was prepared to pay the penalty.

“They haven’t said.”

“Fuck.” I scrubbed my hands down my face. If a club didn’t know how much they wanted as payment, it was a bad sign. “Grizz, any word on Jaynee’s friend, Lisa?”

“No. The cops are calling it a random break-in.” Grizz went back to typing on his laptop.

I cut my gaze at Storm. “Richard has to somehow be connected.”

“Grizz will draw the connections if there are any. It’s always something, isn’t it?” Prez rocked in his chair, his jaw tight.

“All I’m saying is this shit better not interfere with my wedding.” Hero pointed his finger at me. “Roja is going to be my wife, come hell or high water. She won’t let me knock her up until we’re legally bound.”

Ire snorted. “Smart woman.”

“Brother, you know how this shit goes.” Storm twirled the mallet.

Hero growled low in his throat. “Not the answer I wanted to hear, ese.”

I didn’t regret going into Viper territory. Not one bit. Sadie needed me, and so did Jaynee. I wouldn’t change a thing. That didn’t mean I was okay bringing my crap into the club or disrupting Hero’s wedding. I wasn’t okay with any of it.

In less than a month, my life had changed drastically. Jaynee and I finally crossed the line and had sex. There was no going back now. She and Sadie were my family. They were mine, and yet, I hadn’t officially claimed them in the club.

I was still terrified of the future. Taking Jaynee to meet my mom was a massive step for me. Then the other night, I almost blew it with her.

How in the hell had I been so lucky to meet her? To get that text? It was a fucking miracle.

What was holding me back?

I wasn’t sure if she knew what she might be signing up for with the club and me. If we were going to war with the Vipers, it could bring danger to our doorstep. I didn’t want that for Jaynee and Sadie. I could hear Jaynee saying,“The woman has a choice in the matter.”

Jaynee Lloyd turned out to be the dream girl I never knew I needed in my life. She was a badass single mom. Strong and determined. Sexy as fuck.

We were a perfect match in and out of bed. I needed that woman in every way: mind, body, and soul. Mind and soul? I’d never given a shit about either.

Jaynee showed me everything I’d been missing. I was finally in a place where I wanted to fight for my wildest dreams, ready to face my fears.

I smiled, thinking of my girls. That mom-daughter duo made me damn happy.

“Are we all cool with the party this weekend?” Storm rocked in his chair. “Angel says it will be karaoke all night. Yay.” He made a face like he was in pain.

I laughed. “Prez, I’m looking forward to hearing the ladies sing.”

“Yeah?” Track asked with a curious expression. “Is your girl going to be at the party?”

My girl. I liked the sound of that. It was good my brothers knew what was up without me having to explain it.

“Yes, she will be here, so all you single dudes stay the hell away from her.”

“Hold up.” Track feigned shock. “Did I miss when you claimed her?”

“Fucker.” I flipped him off. “No, you didn’t miss it. But she’s mine. I claim her and the kid.” There, I’d done it. Claimed Jaynee and Sadie before the council. They were officially mine… within the club anyway.

My brothers hit their fists on the table in celebration.

“All right, all right.” Storm stood up. “We’re all happy for Lynx. Grizz will keep tabs on the Vipers.” He banged the mallet. “Let’s go celebrate in the bar.”
