I smirked. “You sure know how to make your man feel like a king.”

“Because you are one.”

“Tomorrow I have an appointment made, for you to get my mark.”

Her eyes bulged. “A tattoo?”

“Yes. You good with it?”

“Absolutely!” She devoured my mouth. “Guess that means you are coming back to me.”

“I told you I was, Ava.”

She rolled her eyes. “You didn’t go through what I did.”

No, I hadn’t.

And I couldn’t guarantee she wouldn’t have to go through more shit in the future, but I’d do everything in my power to always come back to her.

The meeting was in a neutral place. Stephen Morrison and Ciro Remotti had a small army surrounding them. Storm had eight Knights, while Jordy only brought his SAA. Talk about a cocky motherfucker.

“All right, let’s get on with it. I don’t have all damn day.” Ciro looked prickly as fuck. Storm had said he agreed to this meeting out of respect—for Storm. It wasn’t even Ciro’s business, yet his presence had been requested.

Last year, after the club had taken out Ciro’s cousin, Casso Campbell, the Remotti mafia family had become one of the club’s allies. Ciro had told Storm he’d be there for him whenever he needed anything. I was sure that was why he was at the meeting.

“First, I’d like to say thank you for agreeing to this meeting.” Jordy nodded at Ciro and Stephen. “Next, what is the status of my daughter?” He cut his gaze at Storm.

Prez shrugged. “What do you mean? We released her two weeks ago, after you told me to do whatever I wanted with her.”

“Well, she never made it home.” Jordy glanced sidelong at his SAA.

“Not my problem. We released her, even gave her money to get home. That was it.” Storm’s jaw twitched.

“Do I need to be here for this?” Ciro glared at Jordy.

“No.” Jordy relaxed in his metal chair. “I want to pick up the gun runs Storm’s crew does for Morrison.”

Stephen Morrison cleared his throat. “What makes you think I want to continue the runs after my contract is up with the Knights?”

“There’s good money in it.” Jordy picked at his tooth. “I suggest you stick with it.”

“Why should he?” Ciro asked with no small amount of annoyance in his voice.

I cut my eyes at Boxer on the other side of the building. We were guarding the exits. Hero was on Storm’s right, and Dodge was on his left. Wolf and Hollywood were behind Storm, then two prospects were manning our hogs and van outside the warehouse.

We were ready for anything.

“I’ve wanted to get into illegal arms.” Jordy paused, as if he had something up his sleeve.

Christ, this whole situation made me uneasy.

“So?” Ciro hissed.

“How’s your wife, Morrison?” Jordy shot a devious smile at Stephen.

Ciro jumped to his feet, pointing a gun at Jordy’s face. “Stop fucking with us. I know you’re up to something.”

“It was a legitimate question. Rosa’s your sister, right?”
