“Good answer.”

I was perched on Drew’s lap in the bar while Jaynee and Karma sang a song with the word abracadabra in it. Drew told me it was by the Steve Miller Band, but I’d never heard it before. The two cracked me up as they shook their rears for everyone.

Two people in the room didn’t appear pleased with the women: Lynx and Cobra. I understood why Lynx might be put off. Jaynee was one sexy dancer. Her pregnancy didn’t slow her down. Whenever music was on, her hips had a mind of their own.

Cobra stayed at the bar with a beer in hand. I wished I knew what his and Karma’s story was. I was sure it would eventually come out. Sometime…

I tingled when Drew licked my earlobe. My body still hummed from when we’d had sex an hour ago.

“Are you okay with me announcing our engagement after this song?” He kissed my neck, his hand cupping the side of my boob.

I melted into a submissive puddle of goo. This man just did it for me. “Mhm. Whatever you want.”

He growled low and muttered, “I want you riding my cock.”

“Then let’s go right now.”

He sighed and pulled away. “We need to do this. I want my brothers and MC family to know we’re getting married.”

I tilted my head to see him better. “Is there something you’re not telling me?”

“Probably.” He winked. “You know—”

“Club business.” I finished his sentence. “Yeah, I know.”

To avoid getting into it with Drew, I turned back toward our table. Being with him might not be a walk in the park. I didn’t like some of the things he had to do—or a lot of it.

But I loved him dearly. I’d take the bad so I could have the good, and it was incredibly good being with him.

Sugar drained her third glass of whiskey and raised her hand to get Copper’s attention at the bar. Something seemed to be bothering her. She’d hardly spoken a single word since she sat at our table.

Clapping and whistling filled the air when the song ended. Jaynee and Karma curtsied and rejoined my table.

“You guys were fantastic,” I told them.

“Yeah, but a little too much ass shaking there, Jay.” Lynx pinched her chin, turning her to face him. “I warned you what would happen if you performed one of your routines in front of my brothers.”

Jaynee fluttered her lashes. “You did. I definitely think you should punish me.”

He captured her bottom lip between his lips. “Let’s go.”

“Hold up.” Drew raised his hand and made me stand. “I got an announcement to make before you leave.”

“Is that so?” Lynx grinned. “Hurry it up before my lovely’s fire blows out.”

“Jesus, you two.” Karma reached for her drink. “All you do is screw.”

I tittered as Drew led me to the stage.

He cleared his throat. “Yo. I have some great news to share. Wanted you to be the first to hear it. I asked this gorgeous woman to be my wife, and she said yes.” He lifted my hand and kissed the diamond engagement ring, then wrapped me in his hulking embrace for a passionate kiss.

His MC brothers cheered, and shouts of congratulations littered the air.

This was the family I never had.

A room full of bikers had once paralyzed me with fear. Not anymore. I was stronger, able to defend myself if needed, and I had a whole club who would lay down their lives for each other, their community, and me.

“Let’s go up to my bedroom,” Drew whispered in my ear.
