He hiked a concerned brow. “At the club?”

“No, it’s personal business.”

Relief washed over him. I imagined his mind had instantly gone to Ava. “Okay. I got it covered here.”

“Cool. Thanks.” I hot-footed it back to my bike, started my hog, and revved the engine obnoxiously. Not sure why I felt the need, it just felt good to do, like releasing tension before I hit the road.

Eve, we’re going to have a long talk and some dirty fucking.

I adjusted my aching dick at the stop sign. Once on the frontage road, I called Grizz on Bluetooth to see if he knew Eve’s location. It rang three times before he answered.

“Yeah?”

“What do you know?”

“Did you leave the meeting?”

“Yes. Where is she?”

“Shit,” Grizzly muttered.

“Shit, what, brother?”

“Maybe I should talk to Storm first. I’m not sure what to do with this information.”

“I’m confused. Is Eve at a day spa or not?” Grizzly was a strange dude. Cryptic, most of the time, quiet and intelligent as hell. He was a fucking savant, loyal and trustworthy. I respected him, but right now, I wanted to pull his long hair to make him spit out where Eve was at.

“No.”

“Where is she?” I shouted as I pushed seventy on the highway.

“I’ll call Storm.”

“You’ll tell me now! Storm is busy. Sugar wasn’t supposed to leave the compound.”

“Did Storm tell her not to leave?”

“Yes!” Of course, she’d blown him off, but Grizz didn’t need to know that.

“Oh.”

“Come on, Grizz. You know the club is spread thin with Track and Ryder in Montana and Wolf and Copper searching for the women. If Eve is out of the state alone, someone needs to be protecting her. That person is me.” My heart rate kicked up several notches. I wasn’t sure what had gotten into me. I didn’t have any reason to believe Eve was in danger.

“She’s at the Fallen Soldiers clubhouse.”

I turned his words around in my head. “Why would she be there?”

“Don’t know.”

I hadn’t meant to ask the question out loud. “You’re sure she’s there?”

“Yeah. I didn’t let you know when she arrived because I didn’t think it was a threat. They’re our allies.”

“You’re right. They are.” I still didn’t feel good about her being at another club, especially when she said she was going to a day spa.

“What are you going to do? I can call Turner and see what’s up.”

“No, no sense getting him involved. I’m heading there.” Calling ahead wasn’t necessary. I made a special trip to the Soldiers clubhouse several times a year to ink up Turner and his enforcer, Maverick.
