“Away from you. Some ride or die chick you got there.”

“You son of a bitch.” I grabbed him by the throat.

“Whoa, boss.” Easton came to my side.

“Stand back,” I growled.

Bone stared at me, seething with his hands fisted.

“Don’t you dare talk bad about Reign. You get me, brother?”

“Calm the fuck down.” He knocked my hand off his throat. “I’m looking after you. Don’t want to see you get hurt again. Finding a ride-or-die chick is harder than finding a nympho in a nunnery. It’s nearly impossible.”

I paced, trying to calm the raging fire inside me. He wasn’t wrong about Reign bailing on me, but she was young. I would’ve never begged her to stay. She needed to get out of Fargo and experience something else. If she’d stayed, she would’ve been my ride-or-die chick.

“What if Keg found you while you were balls deep in his woman?”

Fucking Bone just has to keep pushing me.“She’s mine, goddammit.” I shoved him in the chest. “Obviously, you wanna fight. I’m ready. You’re just jealous I have someone.”

“You little fucker.” He got in my face, jaw tight. “Not having a woman is my choice! Women can’t be trusted… like some family members.”

“Oh, so now I can’t be trusted?” I pushed my chest into his. “What the fuck did I do that made you not trust me?”

“I didn’t say you, although your sexcapades during a dangerous run make me rethink your good judgment.”

“For fuck’s sake. Enough already!”

We both turned toward Storm’s voice. Ire stood with his phone held out in front of him. Storm was on the screen.

“Did you forget what you’re there for?” our cousin asked. “What the fuck is going on with you?”

“Nothing, we’re all good,” I replied.

“Bullshit you are. Sexcapades? Nympho in a nunnery?” He snorted. “Good one, Bone. But none of that has to do with the Hell’s Bells or rescuing your woman, Buff.”

“Yeah. Sorry,” I told him.

“Don’t apologize. Tell me what happened. You apparently got your girl. Good. What about the kid I told you about?”

I cut my gaze at Ire.

Ire looked at Maddox, who shrugged, letting me know he told Ire everything.

“There was a shootout. Keg came after us. We shot back. The dude was with him in the cage. Mason blew out both front tires and hit the engine. They fishtailed and flipped into a ditch.”

“Jesus Christ.” Storm slammed his hand on a table. “And you didn’t stop to see if he was okay?”

“No.”

“Fuck. Fuck!” he yelled. “I’ll get Grizz on it. I want all your asses in your respective homes by noon tomorrow. Stay focused, do you hear me?”

Bone and I grunted.

“Good.” He shook his head as if ashamed of us, then ended the call.

We all stood there in awkward silence. Storm could strike the fear of God in anyone with his harsh tone and deadly gaze. He was a ferocious son of a bitch.

“Be ready to leave by noon,” I told them. This was my gig. I was in charge, although I hadn’t been behaving very boss-like.
