Georgia tossed back the rest of her drink, smiled at him, and grabbed him by the throat of his western button-down. “I’ll make it up to you. Let’s dance.”

“Here we go,” Claire muttered.

Mary Catherine laughed. “Might as well join ’er, Claire Bear. Georgia isn’t taking no for an answer tonight.”

Georgia was a good three inches taller than her dance partner, but she was used to that. Despite her bravado, she had no intention of drinking too much or going home with a cowboy. With MC and Claire, she knew her role. She was the wild one, the one who prodded them to be naughty girls, the one they trusted to know the limits.

They’d drink a little, dance a lot, and go back to the Imperial tipsy, giggly, and craving nachos.

And flirting with horny cowboys was part of the fun.

She laughed as her dance partner tried to twirl her... and that’s when she saw Reed McCormick leaning against the bar, watching her with those bluebonnet eyes.

And that’s when she knew she didn’t need any more of the hard stuff.

Reed knewGeorgia would show up at Thirsty’s. Tyler had hinted as much, and though Reed didn’t usually like a rowdy crowd, he’d ironed the blue button-down shirt his mother had sent from LA for his birthday and used the good cologne rather than Old Spice body spray. A quick shine of his boots and he’d looped through the Holly ranch to pick up Cooter Hightower. He’d been holding down a stool, fighting off invitations to the dance floor for an hour before Miss Fancy Pants showed up.

And she looked like a cold beer after a walk through the desert in her short, black dress and tall boots stretching up mile-high legs. He swallowed as she hit the dance floor with a guy he’d never seen before... but really wanted to punch in the face.

Then her eyes met his across the room, and she missed a dance step.

That was all he needed. Four seconds later, he tapped the cowboy on the shoulder. “Mind if I cut in?”

“Yeah, I do,” the cowboy said, pausing in the midst of writhing bodies.

Georgia smiled. “Go on. I’ll get you later, Rodney.”

With the cards stacked against him, Rodney ducked his head. “I’ll hold you to it, sexy.”

Reed scowled at him before scooping Georgia into his arms and moving toward the perimeter.

God, she felt good in his arms.

“What was that all about?” she asked, her breath warm in his ear, her firm body against his providing friction that stirred desire.

“I wanted to dance with you,” he said, knowing he’d been stupid to tip his hand and show her how much he wanted her. Georgia seemed like a chick who appreciated control in a man. Big colossal fail on that front.

Her laugh wrapped around him as she moved, easily matching his slow two-step. He’d never danced with a woman who could look him in the eye, who could line up with him hip to hip. “I assumed as much.”

For a moment, they didn’t talk. Just moved to the music.

As the song wound down, he moved them to the edge of the crowded dance floor.

Georgia pulled away from him. “Thanks for the dance.”

He didn’t say anything. Just watched her. The way her glossy lips shone in the neon glow, the way her eyes roved over the dance floor, the way that dress hugged every curve of her body.

Her gaze returned to his, and she must have seen the glint in his eyes. “I’m not going to sleep with you, you know.”

“What?”

“The way you’re looking at me, breaking in on my dance with Rusty, I can tell.”

“Rodney.”

“Who?”
