“I have, just a couple of times. How about you?”
“The same. I fell in love with the place the first time I came, and I’ve been coming back for weekends as often as I can since.”
“And you come by yourself?”
She nodded. “You too?”
He laughed. “Why don’t we get it out of the way up front? I’m not here with a woman. I don’t have a girlfriend; I’m not cheating on anyone.”
She pressed her lips together as she looked up into his eyes. “I’m sorry, Lee. I told you, I’m no good at this. I don’t do this.”
She looked so earnest that he felt bad. He almost told her that he was Bentley, not just Lee. He brought his hand up to cup her cheek, wanting to make her feel better. “We’re not doing anything; not unless you want to.”
Her eyes grew wider as he slid his fingers into her hair. “I want to,” she breathed.
He slid his arm around her waist and drew her closer, not stopping until she was pressed up against him, and they were touching from their knees to their chests. And damn, she felt good.
Her hands came up to grasp at his shoulders as he lowered his head. She lifted her lips to meet his, and he ran his tongue over her bottom lip.

Alyssa’s heart hammered in her chest, and she felt sure that Lee must be able to feel it, pressed up against him as she was. Not that she was complaining about that! The heat of his muscular body burned through his shirt and her dress, setting her skin on fire.
She clung to his shoulders as he deepened the kiss. She couldn’t help but moan into his mouth when his hand slipped down to cup her butt and held her closer. His other hand tangled in her hair, tugging her head back to give him better access.
All she could do was cling to him, as her body surrendered to him. He might have said that he wasn’t expecting anything of her, but it felt like his body was making demands. Demands that she’d be happy to meet.
He rocked his hips, and she moaned again as his hardness pressed into her stomach. Could she really go back to his room with him and … She wanted to. She really did.
When he finally lifted his head, they were both breathing hard.
He brushed his thumb over her lips and smiled. It wasn’t a predatory smile; she knew what those were like – she’d kissed guys like that before. That was mostly the reason that she wasn’t into hookups.
Lee didn’t look like he was desperate to get inside her panties. On the contrary, he looked more like he was checking that she was okay.
His words confirmed it. “Are you good with this?”
She wasn’t sure what he meant bythis,but she nodded anyway – whatever he meant, she was good with it.
His hand tightened around her butt and held her closer. Her eyelids fluttered, and she let out a little sigh – she couldn’t help it.
He smiled. He had a great smile. It was open and honest – or at least, it seemed that way. She might be fooling herself because she wanted to believe that he was a good guy, but she didn’t think that was all it was. He really did strike her as a good guy.
“We should probably keep walking.”
That surprised her.
He let out a low chuckle. “When I asked if you’re okay with this, I meant with kissing me out here on the beach like this. I wasn’t asking …”
He didn’t finish the sentence, but he didn’t need to. They both knew what she thought he was asking. She ran her tongue over her bottom lip as she looked up into his eyes. Her heart was pounding in her chest, but if she didn’t say this now, she knew that she’d always regret it. She didn’t want to look back on this as that night when she could have been with that hot guy.
She sucked in a deep breath and then spoke the words as quickly as she could before she changed her mind and took them back. “Even if you weren’t asking, I was saying that yes, I’m good with it.”
His arm tightened around her, and he raised his eyebrows. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to …”
She held her hand up to stop him from saying any more. “I’m sure.” She let out a short laugh. “Please don’t try to talk me out of it.”
He laughed with her and closed both hands around her butt as he held her against the rather large bulge in his pants. “Does this feel like I want to talk you out of it?”
