Page 110 of Wolf Awakened

I need Neo here. Willow's eyes aren't normal.

I was sure the others felt the flowing trickle of concern coming from the new arrival in our wolf bond. Onyx’s devotion to this woman was far beyond the levels of possessiveness. He loved her. It was so fucking obvious, and I was sure the others knew it the moment his wolf joined our pack.

The love he had for her was so overflowing that it seemed to lighten our hate for the man by day, woman by night. She had barely gotten a glimpse of our true capabilities, but I was sure a time would come when she'd see how dangerous we were as individuals and as a unit.

For now, it seemed as though we were witnessing all the dangers that lie within her and were enjoying every bit of it.

"As in?"Dimitris requested more details, but I knew the longer I stood and watched, the more destructive this situation could become.

Code Wolf.

They seemed to understand the two words, the language we used to speak of those on the verge of awakening. Seeing as my own wolf wasn't reacting to her stance and the damage she easily called, I knew we weren't in the danger zone, but anything could happen in a few short seconds.

"I'm coming,"Neo announced calmly."Perimeter is secure. Distract if possible."

Already on it.

I pulled out then, knowing I'd need all my attention to focus on this beauty in silent distress. This scenario was raw and somehow molded for me to encounter by Mother Moon herself. It seemed ironic and amusing because I was never one to believe in the right place and time, but here I was in the locker room, attempting to ease the oozing anger raging through Willow, just like my coach had done as he fought hard to get through the raging anger within me.

The blazing force that wished to consume me, but instead was absorbed and used as fuel to make me achieve every single goal I had in my short life thus far.

I approached cautiously, knowing well that any wrong move was one that could fuck this all up. She was as still as a statue, and I noticed my wolf creep out to assess her, just as I was.

Since seeing her for the first time, I couldn't deny that she was beyond attractive, but it was seeing her, standing bare, with shattered glass around her feet and beads of blood dripping down her outstretched arm, that projected her alluring tranquility.

I walked upon the shards of glass like they were nothing but coals that were engulfed in fire. Their sharp edges dug into my flesh, but tiny pricks of pain were nothing to what I knew was battling inside this woman.

When I stood before her, I stared solely into those blank voids of gold. The pink sparks of glimmer I caught onto before were gone, and as I continued to stare into her eyes, I saw the glimpses of teal fighting hard to return.

I was prepared for this woman before me to fight me, to lash out and destroy me for entering her space when she was enduring a state of inner turmoil, but she was fighting it back just as hard - the lines of internal debate etched into her expression as her brows furrowed and she bit her lip hard.

From my frequent observation of her during the nights and even the days we were keeping an eye on her through our own ways of keeping her safe, the common habit was one she couldn't stop, no matter her gender.

It was a move that revealed her internal conflict as she decided whether to push forward or to hold back, but I saw far past that. I saw above and beyond the image before me.

I stepped in closer, slowly reaching to cover her fist with my hand. Gently, I lowered her arm down, feeling her blood drip along my hand, but not bothering to be distracted by the loss of blood.

If she lost herself in the cyclone of fire within her, the drops of blood spilled would be far more than just her own.

I took another step forward, my gaze intensely locked on hers. She could do anything in this moment. Kill, stab, or torture me, while I could do the same if my cruel heart wished for her to suffer. I expected my wolf to come out and play, to take advantage of this state of intense silence and pounce on this woman who was supposedly our enemy weeks ago.

He remained in the comfort of his shadows, watching intently as we continued our staring contest. What baffled me the most was how similar her eyes were to mine in this prime moment. She couldn't hide the true emotions that lingered deep within the shadow of those spheres, the hidden temple of emotions that were beginning to rise to the surface for my eyes to witness.

Beyond the hard ego, the taunting smirks, the odd yet powerful character, and the woman who was defined by so many restraints that begged to devour her, was a fragile beauty who craved a moment's grace.

A moment to be broken. To crumble in a world that won't judge, pity, or harm her.

When I saw the multiple scars on her naked body mixed with the tattoo that cloaked her fit arm, I knew that her story was a beautiful one.

One I wish to discover like my wolf brothers.

Never had a woman captivated us to the point of holding back on our inner conquest to get rid of them and all those she loved and cherished, and yet we'd been in NYC for close to six weeks and suddenly this woman was our world.

We'd yet to truly dive into knowing her, but she'd already inched herself into each of us without trying.

Imagine if she gave each of us the attention we craved? What a magnificent nightmare to endure. To live through and get lost in the darkness she hides so perfectly.

The vivid, imaginative thought left me in an odd state of lust, and that was when my wolf moved from his spot and into the light - his majestic fur of white with hints of blue and green shimmering with a touch of gold.
