“As an added bonus, you can’t hurt or interfere with any member of my pack as well as work alongside anyone to enact revenge upon us,” I added, which made him whistle.

“You’re good at this,” he praised and sighed. “That seems a bit riskier overall, but I’m a risk-taker. I do have an added request.”

“What?”

“Regardless of what happens, we have to confront the elephant in the room,” he hummed and leaned in so close, my distinct expression of utter disgust could probably kill someone if it had the power to do so. “You understand what I’m referring to, right?”

All I did was nod before looking away and adding, “I’ll send my demon to retrieve her.”

“You can go yourself,” Arthur suggested. “I can stay right here.”

“As if I trust you to not try to make a contract with that half-dead imbecile over there so that if your backup plan fails, you’re still safe,” I grumbled.

“You’re so smart,” he praised. “So intelligent. I really enjoy being around individuals who use their brains.” He took a deep inhale and let it out slowly while his lips slightly brushed my neck. “Anything else?”

“This,” I stated the single word first. “Can’t be anything else but exactly this.”

“Unless?” He pulled back just slightly to side-glance into my glaring eyes. “Your Blossoming Flower approves of it, yes?”

“She won’t.”

“Just like she won’t accept your Dark Lord form,” he tossed back and shrugged. “I guess only time is going to tell what your Sweet Domino is going to do.”

“Sweet Domino?” I already didn’t like that he was giving her a nickname.

Bad news. So fucking bad.

“All you need is a single domino to lose its balance and cause collateral damage that changes the hands of time itself,” he deciphered before he was whispering in my ear. “Plus, she tastes sweet.”

The man was standing one minute and pressed against the floor the next with my summoned demon’s hands around his throat. Instead of grunting, he laughed the best he could before tapping his hand against the wooden floor.

“Hold…up…before…killing…me,” he stated, which didn’t sound like much of a plea. “Your mate…would have died…if I hadn’t given…C…P…” He didn’t finish because I forced my demon to let go of him, which triggered a round of coughs before he was laughing like a lunatic again.

“You know…you’re a better ticking time bomb than me.” He beamed as he sat up and rested his arms on his knees before lightly stroking his bruised neck with his right hand. “So, are you a top or bottom?”

“Finish your previous sentence or I’ll let my demon actually kill you this time around.” I grunted because I was on my last thread of resistance.

“So, a bottom. Got it,” he concluded. The bastard was lucky he moved fast or the blades of my shadows would have struck right through him.

He was behind me again before he continued, “My little shock stopped your mate's heart for a hot minute, and I didn’t want to deal with Loki’s wrath because he’s a pain in the ass when angry, so I revived her with CPR before throwing her on the plane since I knew the older pilot would make sure she was alive before takeoff.”

“How did you know the older pilot would give a shit about Willow?” I muttered.

“C’mon. I’ve been forced to stay on the Vile Queen’s side for as long as I can remember! Loki can do the same disguise bullshit I can, only I can do it flawlessly!” Arthur disclosed and was spinning around me before his scythe shot back into his grasp.

Christopher gasped before he face-planted the floor. He was in a pool of his own blood in ten seconds, which led to us turning our attention to him before exchanging a look.

“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure he doesn’t die…yet.”Another eye roll.“I was introduced to Loki the day he came into the Vile Queen’s possession. Think of him as my archnemesis if you will. Whatever will piss him off brings me far too much satisfaction.”

“Which is why you decided to kidnap Willow.”

“Yes and no,” he confessed. “Yes, because I was curious about pissing off a whole lot of people, especially if it only further favored my itch to grind Loki’s gears, but also no. I’m a slave to the Vile Queen so I obviously can’t disobey her. At least, not yet.”

“Who’s the Vile Queen?” I took my chances in trying to obtain the truth, but I knew it wouldn’t be that easy—even with how psychotic Arthur was portrayed to be.

“If I wasn’t sworn by magic oath, I actually would have told you,” he confessed as he casually twirled his scythe like it didn’t weigh a ton. “I could get used to you, even if your energy makes me want to lose control and destroy the world as we know it. I’m sure we’re breaking some sort of rule for being in such a close radius with one another.”

“Your existence probably breaks a few rules,” I muttered under my breath which only amused him into another round of frenzied chuckles.
