“Doesn’t that mean the Vile Queen will know he’s been marked?” Saint brought up.

“That’s the point,” Amos admitted. “It forces the Vile Queen to push Garfield away or else her location will be exposed. Purebloods are the fastest breeds to exist. One lock on her location and even teleportation magic wouldn’t be able to save her from being caught.”

“So why hasn’t Dimitris used that skill before?” Milo asked.

“Think of it as a skill you can’t use often,” Nico disclosed. “He’s gonna feel like shit after using it, so let’s all prepare for cranky Dimitris for at least a week.”

“A full week?” Saint gasped in horror. “Fuck. We ain’t going to survive cranky Dimitris’s wrath. We’ll be lucky to make it to the new year!”

“Shut up, you dramatic Dark Lord of a Complainer.” Now that was Dimitris, and he sounded like he wanted to destroy the earth with everyone included.

“Damn. You’re back already,” Jayce voiced.

“The weak shit runs like a frightened puppy,” Dimitris grumbled. “Runs straight into my trap but smart enough to not get caught.”

“OH! What was your trap?!” Arthur beamed at the comment in hopes of getting an answer.

“Rosebush.” The answer came from Viktor as his approaching steps reached my ears. “His ankle got caught in the rose bush, the thorns digging into his flesh deep enough for him to bleed freely before he could heal himself.”

“Nice,” Onyx praised. "What now?”

“We wait,” Dimitris declared. “It won’t be long before Garfield has no choice but to come to us. Only I can remove that mark.”

“So you’re waiting for him to go frantic with no leadership from the Vile Queen,” Loki summed up. “Desperation at its finest.”

“Should we go back and put Willow to bed?” Jayce suggested.

“No.” Malachite actually spoke up, which seemed to draw everyone’s attention to him.

Even my recovering, curious ass wanted to know what he was going to say.

"She needs to run. Her wolf is irritated and it’s affecting her.”

“It’s been a while since we’ve gone for a run,” Onyx acknowledged. “With everything that has happened, she could use it. We know Bria, her wolf, is very patient and understanding, but the stress of the last 72 hours has been a bit dangerous for her and Willow.”

“Which clearly triggered whatever that was,” Milo commented.

“Sleeping Beauty!”

That surely came from Arthur because it rendered everyone speechless before he decided to elaborate on his statement.

“We shall call Cynical Willow Sleeping Beauty!”

“Because?” Amos clearly wasn’t following because he sounded utterly confused for the first time ever.

"She’s practically been dormant in Willow this whole time, right? Like Sleeping Beauty! She was created by the Vile Queen, and instead of her pricking her finger and falling into slumber, the Vile Queen has been waiting for death to prick Willow so it would awaken her! If it wasn’t for Vikky’s magical juju, she would have gotten Garfield to send our location, and boom. Ambush and destruction. She has an army of manic wolf shifters ready to pounce at her word so we would have been in a tricky spot.”

"Don’t call me Vikky,” Viktor snarled.

“It suits you,” Arthur countered in glee.

“Alright. Pack run, and then we have to tell Willow about the Aurelia situation,” Dimitris concluded.

Aurelia situation? Why would I care about her now?

Okay, I was still a bitter bitch.

"Are you sure we’re allowed to stay here, Amos?” Milo brought up.
