“If you believe I’m simply playing a game, then you’ll never understand my true motive,” she stressed. “You make it seem like you’re so innocent, and yet you have enemies hidden in the shadow waiting to get back at you for disgracing them in the ring.”

I actually laughed and began to understand what was happening here.

“So this is about some lost fights from years ago?” The mockery in my voice was priceless. “Imagine being so butt hurt about losing to me in a fair fight of sheer strength that you con my mate to join this unknown army that vows to fuck me up.”

I laughed again, but it was short just so I could show her the emotionless expression that bled down my face. She grew rigid when I dared to lean forward, her eyes widening at the sight of my face melting and my boned face being inches from hers.

“I’ll warn you just once, my petty ex of a mate. I’ll no longer let anyone walk over me or those I cherish,” I growled. “You lost that privilege years ago, and the only reason why I’m letting you leave tonight is the sheer fact that I’m in a good fucking mood.”

She struggled to speak and I moved back and dared to grin. ‘

“Know that from this day forward, I won’t let you have power over me. Do you want to play a game of revenge when I’m the fucking victim? Let’s play,” I stressed. “Gather all those cowardly fuckers who are so scared of me being in the fucking ring that they worked with my mate to fuck me up in the head. Go and get all of them who think they can take me on. I dare you.”

She bit her lower lip, and it made me laugh lowly as my hollowed eyes glared at her.

"You can’t fuck me up a second time,” I reassured her and tapped my skull. “For this mind of mine is but a fortress, strengthened by the love of someone who truly gives a shit about me. Flaws and all.”

“She’s not better than me!” she snapped back, but it only made me smile in return.

“Oh, honey, she’s a diamond compared to your coal heart, and she’s someone you shouldn’t dare mess with,” I warned her. “But you’ll get to see what happens when a bitch does bother my Forbidden Queen. I suggest you stick around to find out.”

I slid my hands in my pockets as my skin began to reconstruct itself across my boney face.

She was going to say something back to me, but her eyes looked past me.

“Jacey! There you are!”

My face was back to normal just as I looked over my shoulder to surprisingly see Arthur, Saint, and Viktor. One look into Saint’s and Viktor’s expressions told me they knew exactly what was going on and weren’t going to hesitate to get into action if need be.

Arthur, on the other hand, looked like he was far too excited to stay still as he held four bottled waters.

"Sweet Domino said you’re taking too long to find the bottles of water, so I went and got them for you!” Arthur cheered with pride and came skipping over to me until he was not only behind me but resting his chin on my shoulder while offering me a bottle. “Your fight was amazing! We should go back. I think Malachite already started his. At least, that’s what Vikky said.”

“Don’t call me Vikky,” Viktor groaned.

“You done with your conversation?” Saint casually questioned, though his voice was far from friendly. “Alpha Memphis is waiting for you to do the honors of bringing Lorsan’s body to the dungeons further down until he can take him to his Pack House.”

Aka let’s wreck that fucker up a bit before Willow’s fight.

"We’re done,” I announced and smirked as I took Arthur’s offered water. "This girl just wanted an autograph.”

She gawked at my words before Arthur laughed and slipped two of the bottles into the open sweater he had on his shoulders, which I was beginning to assume was Saint’s since it was pure white.

"I don’t blame you. Our boy Jayce is ruthless in the ring,” Arthur cheered and gripped my shoulders just so he could lean forward.“Now scram, you traitor of a bitch, or I’ll personally enjoy skinning you alive, reconstructing your whole body, and forcing another fifty years onto your life so you can walk around this early plain with a deformity that will make you a laughing stock in our community.”

Now I did not expect that.

Neither did she because she looked so frightened, I was pretty impressed at Arthur’s scaring tactic.

“Shoo,”Arthur shooed, then suddenly let go of me to spin around. “Saint, my love! I want front-row seats to see our Sweet Domino in action!”

"That won’t be hard,” Saint replied. “Let’s go.”

“Coming,” I replied and turned away just as Saint and Arthur took the lead. Only Viktor waited until I reached where he stood before glancing away and following my lead as we departed.

“That’s your previous mate,” he asked in a way that confirmed he knew who she was but was just questioning for conversation's sake.

“Yup.” I was already trying to erase all the emotions and memories associated with her. “She’s in the past though. Rebel’s our mate now.”

“True,” Viktor agreed. “Let’s go watch our Fighter beat the shit out of Felicia.”

It couldn’t be more of a worthy sight to witness.
