I got up and said a silent prayer that things would remain calm for the rest of the day or I’d do something utterly stupid with so much alcohol in my system—like go on a fucking massacre and wipe every single witch off this fucking universal plane.

It took fifteen minutes for Jayce to give me the summarized version of the torture little Willow had endured. The full whisky bottle was two-thirds done and I was so enthralled with rage, I really was debating if I carried enough restraint to stop myself from strapping on as many weapons I could upon my body and going straight to the Coven to wipe them all out.

Merry Christmas, motherfuckers.

“Please don’t tell me you want to conduct a massacre,”Jayce pleaded with me.

The real question is, if I did, would you stop me?

He didn’t even hesitate in answering.

“No, but you know Willow wouldn’t approve of you killing her best friend’s family tree and associated lineage.”

Ex-best-friend.

I had to correct him but it was amusing that he thought I’d legit stop myself from destroying the entire magic community because of Willow’s friendship.

“You can’t blame Aurelia for something that clearly wasn’t in her power to interfere with or change. She probably knows nothing about it. Willow clearly has kept such information to herself.”

So you think she remembers everything?

“Remember she briefly called foul play being done to her but she had such a wishy-washy memory revolving around it that she didn’t want to make a big deal yet. You offered her therapy, but she said therapy triggers her unless it’s a professional she’s used to. Ruby mentioned if Willow did need therapy, she’d have access to the royal resources, but we really haven’t had the opportunity to delve into that, have we?”Jayce elaborated.“Though, now that we’re talking about it, Saint did mention Willow having a lot of nightmares lately. Remember, he said she had one when she was recovering after the avalanche incident on Mount Marcy, but when he tried to inquire about it, she brushed it off.”

If what you revealed is 100% accurate, Willow’s going to need therapy. In fact, she’s going to need a full physical and magic assessment, and we really need to look into her magic incantations and get to the root of their intention. Finding someone to do that is going to be tricky.

“Milo can do it,”Jayce declared which was intriguing.“Want me to ask now?”

You’d have to explain the reasoning if you do. Plus, he’s still asleep. You could potentially ask later, but still.

“Milo would gladly wait for the entire reasoning but would immediately be on board in helping us since it revolves around Willow,”Jayce reminded me.“He also wouldn’t go on a diabolical killing spree like you’re thinking of doing.”

I won’t.

I disliked being read like an open book.

“Not yet,”Jayce noted.“But you’ve been drinking so your reactions and following actions are unpredictable as fuck.”

I rolled my eyes and dared to reach out for the whisky bottle.

“Dimitris, please don’t drink one more damn glass,”Jayce complained.“We already had Saint go over the edge and that landed us with a new pack member. None of us can handle you when you’re murderous.”

Willow can handle me just fine.

“William,”Jayce corrected.“Who’s asleep.”

Simply admit you fear me causing more damage than we already have.

Jayce sighed.“Trust me, Alpha. I don’t fear the wrath you’ll bestow upon our enemies, for they deserve every flicker of suffering,”he emphasized.“What I worry about is that cynical energy seeping into the rest of us. You and I know there’s no way Willow can aid in reeling us all back from the lands of uncontrolled fury.”

Hmph.

He had a good fucking point. The real question was whether I gave a damn.

“Saint mentioned something when we woke up briefly an hour ago.”Jayce was clearly trying to change the topic but at least this new shift was deemed relevant.

What did he say?

“He mentioned at some point during the confrontation with Father Christopher that Willa and William came out to play, but at the heightened point of the confrontation, things felt off.”
