“I’ll cook you something,” Jayce volunteered.
“Ruby? Are you going to stay long?” I inquired. “Jayce can make you something as well.”
“Ah. That won’t be necessary. I have to leave in a hot minute to go to a hundred more households in hopefully five hours.”
“One hundred?” I gasped. “Why?”
“The date of the runway has been changed again,” she announced.
“I’m aware,” Dimitris acknowledged. “To New Year's Eve.”
“Ah, no.” Ruby shook her head and straightened her back to look at us. “Queen Elphaba Phoenix has declared the runway will occur as originally scheduled.”
She gave us all a firm look before she beamed and clapped her hands.
“Which means tonight!”
