I had no say in the matter. Not in that or how he took liberties with my exposed ass, slapping it red before depositing me into the shower. With the water at a nice warm temperature, he lifted my left leg, holding my limb against his belly. He then penetrated me, his dick sliding into home base like a baseball player.

The way he pressed me against the wall as the water sloshed between us had my eyes rolling in my head. Still, he spiced it up even more by alternating his fingers and dick in my entrance, pumping into me so hard I had to hang onto the shower rod for dear life.

So damn good.

Arriving at my cubicle, Nat gives me a knowing smirk as she peaks her head around her partition. Ignoring her, I shuffle to my chair, sitting down as gingerly as possible.

Her chuckle at my trying to get comfortable, earns her a glare. It soon turns to a laugh as the knowing amusement shining from her brown eyes is catching.

When our mirth tapers off, I notice she has changed her hair. She lightened the tips of her curls to a light magenta. Against the starkness of her black business suit, the effect is stunning.

“Those tips look great on you.”

“Thank you, Gen,” she cocks an eyebrow. “But tell the truth, that smile on your face is not because of my tips, is it?”

I giggle. “It is...”

“You’re a damn liar, Gen. Now tell me what you two got up to.”

“I’ll tell you everything after the meeting.”

“You’d better,” she huffs, rolling her chair back to her desk.

Nat doesn’t know I’m about to spill my guts to the team. I figured Melinda would spread the word after she was fired, so I might as well get the jump on things and tell my story in my own way.

An hour later, I get the chance to do so. The room fills with the combined teams of Nat, myself, and the Programming Department.

I’d forgotten they were going to join the round table, but I’m still going through with what I have to say. I’m not ashamed of my relationship with Royce, and any backlash that comes my way, I’ll face it with a smile.

As long as he is by my side.

Glancing around the room, I note Luke has taken a chair directly across from me. He probably did so on purpose. Dickhead wants to intimidate me with the stoic look on his face. I return it with one of my own, only shifting my gaze to the first speaker as the meeting starts.

People go round the table and as the time for my “update” draws near, a peaceful calm descends over me.

Again, I blame Royce.

It was his admission that he loved me. It was the first time he said the words to my face. As I stood there in awe, he kissed me as the elevator doors opened onto the eighteenth floor.

And instead of drawing apart, he brought me closer, neither of us caring who saw us or what they thought.

And I still don’t.

“Gen,” Nat says, giving me a slight poke. “It’s your turn.”

I come out of my reverie to find all eyes on me.

It’s now or never.

Pushing back my chair, I stand. While Royce drove us to the office this morning, I wondered if I should give my business update first, or my love life one. At the last second, I choose to get the harder one out of the way.

“I’d like you all to know that I am dating Royce Grayson. I wanted you to hear it from me first, in case you had questions.”

The room is silent at my news. No one, save Natalie, looks me in the eye. Even Luke gazes at the folded hands resting in his lap.

I’m unsure what do with my hands or what expression I should have on my face as I wait for someone to say something. My ears burn and my face flames hot.

Moments pass by in uncomfortable silence. Finally, Liam says, “I met my girlfriend at my night job. It’s no big deal.”
