“Oh, Sem. You have no idea how well we work. We fit together like puzzle pieces.”

And then I pull him down for a long and dirty kiss.

CHAPTERELEVEN

“You ready to go?” Sem says with a smile, opening his RV door open for me. He grabs onto my duffle bag and sets it on the floor. The two of us are on our way to meet his family for their annual Fourth of July camping trip. We’ll be spending tonight at his parents’ and then making the trip into the mountains tomorrow morning.

The past week has been bliss. Ever since our date, I’ve let myself start to plan. For a future with him. Our future.

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” I say, pressing my face into his chest and pulling him into a hug. “Whit already called me to warn me.”

Sem leans back slightly, one hand on the back of my neck, the other on my hip.

“Warn you about what?”

I bite my lip and smirk up at him. “About what it will be like with your family.”

Sem scoffs and then bends down, pressing a languid and obscene kiss to my mouth.

When he finally pulls away, I have hooded eyes and an erection. Wonderful. Just what I need for an hour-long drive through traffic on a Friday night.

“Whit’s a crybaby. You’ll fit right in. I bet you even join in.”

“Maybe I will,” I shrug and then move to the front of the RV, settling into the oversized passenger side chair.

Sem moves into the driver’s side, adjusting the steering wheel and turning the motorhome on with a loud rumble.

Leaning over, I plug my phone into the stereo. “Made us a playlist for the drive. I asked Caleb what kind of music you like, and let me say I’m not surprised. Stereotypical country boy, huh?”

Sem smiles over at me as the music pumps through the speakers. “Never said I was anything else.”

“No, no, you did not.”

“That a bad thing?”

“Nope,” I say, popping the P. “I happen to have a thing for your brand of country boy.”

He bites his lip and side-eyes me before pulling out of the RV park. We pull onto the freeway, and I relay the conversation I had with Whit earlier. Apparently, tonight there will be explosives. A truck-load full. I bite back a grin thinking of how exasperated Whit sounded when he told me to make sure I have a first aid kit on me at all times.

Sem just smirks and says,“No one’s died yet.”

Not entirely reassuring, but I have to admit, I’m bouncing in my seat a little, thinking about watching stuff get blown up.

I glance over at Sem expertly navigating the large motorhome through the crowded freeways, and I find that I’m so impressed with him. He draws beautifully, he an expert builder, he’s hardworking and has a good job. He might not be traditionally book-smart like Whit or my friends from college, but he’s a fucking prodigy in ways that make my chest swell with pride.

If he was mine, I’d show him off all the time.

He deserves it.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Sem asks, peeking over at me.

I close my gaping mouth and sniff. I’m not ready to tell him what I was really thinking so I smirk and say, “You’re hot. I’m horny. Think I can give you road head?”

Sem huffs with a smile. “Stop saying stupid shit, Maggie.”

“How is it stupid? I’m small enough. I could fit right there between your legs, and we both know I’m very good with my mouth.”

He glances down at his lap and shifts in his seat. “Nah, too dangerous. Wouldn’t risk you like that.”
