“Forget dinner,” he says, bringing my mouth down to his. “I’m going to eat you instead.” Then he takes a step back from me and his voice lowers to his commanding tone, “Clothes off. On the bed. Ass in the air. Now.”

And fuck, if I don’t sprint to the bedroom, shedding clothes like they’re on fire.

EPILOGUE

4 MONTHS LATER

ELLIOT

“Icannot believe we pulled this off in four months,” Eliza says, slumping against the doorframe. “We are goddamn miracle workers is what we are.”

I glance at my soon-to-be mother-in-law and she grasps onto my hands. “You look so handsome. Luke is going to bawl like a baby when he sees you waiting for him at the end of the aisle.”

“That man hasn’t cried a day in his life,” I say and Luke’s mom swipes at her eyes.

“Trust me on this.”

An hour later, I’m standing at the altar in a prim tux, my hands clasped in front of me as Luke makes his way around the corner, wearing an equally prim tux and looking so damn fine that I’ve lost the ability to breathe.

Our eyes meet and my heart feels like it could soar right out of my chest.

He swipes at his damp eyes as he makes his way closer and when he’s mere inches from me, he pulls me right into his arms and presses a kiss to my mouth. I can feel and taste the tears slipping down his cheeks as he licks his way into me.

This kiss is totally inappropriate for the moment, but I let him do it anyway. How can I not? He’s mine.

All mine.

When we finally pull away, we’re both gulping for air.

“You look so hot,” he says softly.

“So do you.”

“This tux is scratchy,” he whispers, and a small laugh escapes my lips.

“Well, I can peel you out of it later,” I whisper back, and Luke’s smile widens.

“You got it, Doc.”

He sniffs and swipes at his eyes some more, and then we take our places in front of our friends and family. It’s a small gathering––my sisters, Luke’s family, and a few close friends, but that’s all we need. This, right here, is what’s important.

Magnus, Sem’s husband is leading the ceremony and I follow along as best I can, but it’s hard when I’m so distracted by him. My hands keep slipping across his chest, my mouth keeps moving towards his.

And when we finally say “I do”, I’m ecstatic. I’ve never grinned so much in my life. My face hurts. I’ll have to scowl extra hard tomorrow to make up for it.

“You’re my husband now,” Luke murmurs in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. “No getting rid of me now.”

“I never want to be rid of you,” I say, leaning into him.

“Ditto.”

We link hands and walk back down the aisle, past the small gathering of family and friends toward my car.

“Do you think everyone will behave?” I ask Luke and he snorts.

“Not likely. I saw a giant box in the back of Liam’s car earlier. I’m pretty sure those are fireworks, the big kind. And did you notice your sisters whispering something in Lex’s ear? Don’t even get me started on Amanda.”

“What are the chances this reception ends with the police being called?” I ask. “Really, give me a percentage.”
