My grump.

When I walk into his small office, I don’t see anyone at the front desk, but I do see Elliot. He’s standing, arms crossed, in the middle of the waiting room, waiting for me. He’s not even talking to the two patients sitting there. One is even speaking directly to him, but Elliot isn’t paying any attention. He’s just anxiously looking at the door as I stroll in.

Fuck, if he isn’tso damn cute.

“Hey, Eli,” I say and wrap my arm around his shoulders and press a kiss to his temple. “Waiting for me with bated breath?”

“Absolutely not,” he replies, and I chuckle as we move toward his office.

As soon as we’re inside, I press myself into him.

“What are you doing?” he asks as he wraps his arms around me and squeezes.

“Giving you a hug,” I reply. “You won’t admit it, but I know you love it. You’re a total hugger.”

He sighs and presses his cheek to my chest just as Amanda barges right in. She doesn’t even knock.

Elliot clears his throat and peels himself away from me.

Amanda eyes us both with a smirk, her animated eyebrows quirking up individually. They remind me of the little fuzzy, blue-haired worm dude from the movieLabyrinth. I sorta want to snatch one up and take him home in my pocket.

“Nice to see you again, shit-stain,” she tells me.

I smile widely. “Back atcha, dick face.”

Elliot’s mouth lowers into a frown, and he sends a glower at Amanda. “What is happening here?”

“We’re friends,” I say, and Amanda smacks her gum loudly.

“What he says.”

“I didn’t know you had friends,” Elliot tells Amanda, who just rolls her eyes in response. “Do you always call your friends such awful names?”

“Nah, only the special ones,” I respond.

“And we both know Luke isvery special, don’t we?” Amanda says and arches an eyebrow at her boss.

“Damn the women in my life,” Elliot mutters, and I nudge him.

“Loosen up, Doc. We’re having lunch,” I say and then toss Amanda the third brown paper bag. “Your favorite.”

Elliot eyes us both, and after Amanda blows me a kiss, she closes the door. Then she opens it again and peeks her head in. “Lock this shit if you’re going to do something naughty.”

I snort a laugh, and Elliot sighs loudly.

But I nudge him and pull a sandwich out for him.

“Got it nice and healthy for you. Wheat bread, light mayo, and I even had them put on some avocados. Those little green things are expensive as fuck, yeah?”

“Thank you,” he says and takes a small bite.

“Anything for you, Eli.”

He munches on his sandwich, eyeing me, and I resist the urge to peel myself out of my clothes and let him use me as a tabletop. I’d even let him use my dick as a chair.

I shift in my seat and take a large bite out of my sandwich.

“So, I was thinking about Colorado, and I sent you an email of all the shit we can do. You want to be in on the final decision, or can I just pick everything?”
