Page 103 of Until Him

I’ve never feltthis out of my mind in my entire life…or this horny. Is that a thing that happens when you smoke pot?

Because ever since I took a hit, Logan grew ten times hotter and more delicious than the apple pie I’m currently eating. Why do I want to slather this in mashed potatoes and season it with pepper?

Why does that sound so good?

I eye Logan who is licking his spoon sensually and our eyes catch. Goddamn. The things I want him to do to me with his tongue.

His parents have to know what’s going on between us. I was on his lap and his hand was up my shirt and now I can’t stop staring at him. I’m drooling and I’m so fuckinghungry.

I always knew weed would lower my inhibitions, but I always thought I’d be able to remain logical.

I am so past logic that I’m in another dimension entirely.

“What’s your major?” his mom asks me, and I swallow the pie down, averting my gaze from Logan. It’s difficult because my eyeballs want to keep ogling him.

“Chemistry. I’m getting my doctorate.”

“Oh, wow, so you’re incredibly smart.”

“He told me all about the chemical makeup of cannabis, Jeanette,” Basil says, his hand moving down my cat’s back. He ran upstairs right before dinner to let her out of Logan’s room because, and I quote, “pretty kitties deserve Thanksgiving too”. So, now she’s perched on his lap, fawning all over him and eating tiny bites of turkey off his plate. I don’t think his mom was wrong. I may be leaving this place without Curie.

Logan throws an arm across the back of my chair and nods like he’s proud of me. “He is hella smart. He single-handedly saved my ass this semester. I’m so far ahead at this point that I don’t even need his help anymore.”

What the fuck?

“What?” I ask, my eyebrows meeting, my heart sputtering in my chest.

“Huh?” Logan asks, his cheeks coloring.

Oh, he fucking knows. What a goddamn liar.

“You don’t need my help anymore?” I choke out, feeling my spirits sink.

Because if he doesn’t need my help anymore, then it’s over.

Finito.

“Nah, I uh, I still need it,” he replies, but he shifts on his seat guiltily.

Has he just been keeping me around? For what? Why?

If he couldn’t just be honest with me, his reasoning can’t be anything good.

Is he using me?

I scoot my chair back and stand up, feeling a little nauseous. I smoked too much, ate too much, felttoo much.

“I…excuse me,” I mumble and then make my way outside. The cool air hits my overheated face as I pace to the other side of the large yard.

Of course, Logan follows me because he can’t just give me space. I’m not sure whether I love it or hate it, him chasing me around all the time.

“Hey, why did you leave?”

I keep moving until we’re out of earshot of the house and then I turn to face him. I’m too high to do this now, and yet it all comes tumbling out anyway.

I poke him in the chest, my eyes narrowing on him. “You don’t need tutoring anymore.”

“Uh…yeah, I do. Don’t listen to me. I’m high as fuck.”
