This was his way of “asking” nicely, since the Hunter didn’t like him communicating through their minds.

The other male seemed to know it, for he blinked as he considered, and finally said:

“Zaidu. Zai.”

Zai.

Zai. Zai. Zai.

Sin repeated the name in his mind to try it out.

It suited the Dark Hunter. It was strong, stubborn, sharply edged and deadly, just like the man who owned it.

“I propose a truce,Zai,” he rumbled low, letting the name purr through his throat.

“For as long as we stay in this glen. To eat our fill, rest and recover.”

“And?” Zai prompted, arching one dark brow.

Ah, he knew Sin so well, this stranger.

His enemy.

“And fuck like lions in mating season,” Sin growled, baring all of his teeth in a beatific grin.

“Feast on each other’s blood. Gorge on each other’s cum. Rut until our bodies are too sore and exhausted to move. Then rut some more.”

His hand in the Hunter’s hair tightened into claws, pulling Zai’s head back until he bared his throat.

“A lion can mate over a hundred times a day,” he purred darkly, rubbing his face in the hollow of the male’s jaw and neck.

“I have the strength of a tiger and the stamina of a lion. I will wantmore. I need this, Dark One. And I sense that you do too. So, what say you, Zaidu? Truce?”

In answer, the other male suddenly lunged forward, yanking his hair out of Sin’s hand, and headbutted him in the face, almost breaking his nose again.

“Truce,” he gritted out in that gravelly voice that set Sin’s entire body to shivering.

“First, we hunt. Eat. Then…”

He shrugged, turned, and walked away, his big, muscular, scarred body on full display, broad back flexing, round ass taunting.

Sin grinned wide as he rubbed his sore nose.

That was a clear invitation if the other male ever gave one. At least, it was how Sin decided to interpret it.

Shifting smoothly into liger, he caught up to the Hunter. Wordlessly, they both bounded into a silent run, heading deeper into the woods in search of supper.

Hunting with the liger was an experience Zai wouldn’t ever forget.

Running naked through the woods, one with nature, blood hot from the chase, sore muscles straining, he’d never felt as free as he did now. Never been this connected to the world around him.

To the animal running next to him.

Together, they brought down and killed a magnificent stag. Zai held it down while Sin clamped his jaws around the prey’s throat.

Their gazes locked as they felt the stag’s heartbeat still.
