Page 36 of Loving Rush

"Sure."

She allowed me to pull her off the bed, and I couldn't help admiring her body. She was truly an exquisite being. We talked into the bathroom, and I turned on the shower. "Get in. I'm going to run our clothes to the dryer." I picked up her dress. It looked ruined. "Is this okay to be dried?"

She shrugged her shoulders. "Let's see." She checked the tag and then met my eyes. "Looks like it's dry clean only." She shrugged again. "Mind if I borrow something of yours?"

"Not at all." I went over to the dresser and grabbed a shirt and some gray sweats. "Try these. They won't fit, but hopefully, you can at least keep them on with the tie."

She took them. "Thanks." Worry creased her brows. "My mom's going to know we did something."

I thought about that a moment. "What if you told her we got caught in the rain, and I let you borrow some of my clothes?"

Her face lit up like the lights of a Christmas tree. "That's a great idea. Okay." Satisfied, she set the clothes on the counter next to the sink and climbed into the tub, letting the water hit her. "Want to join me?"

"I do. Yes, but if I do that, I will want to fuck you again, and your body needs to recuperate first."

Her succulent lips turned down in disappointment. "You're probably right." She closed the curtain.

I cleared my throat. "Um, I don't suppose you're on the pill?"

"Shit." She gasped and ripped the curtain back, her eyes frightened. "We didn't use protection. I didn't think about it." She shook her head.

"It's my fault. I'm the one who should've insisted on protection." I didn't tell her a condom hadn't even occurred to me. Her body and spending time with her in such an intimate way had been all-consuming. "I'm so sorry."

"Any diseases I should be worried about?" She lifted one brow and one side of her mouth, making a funny face.

"No, but still. I'm really sorry." I wasn't going to let her off the hook so easily.

"Don't worry about pregnancy. That isn't an issue," Lux said, her face falling, and then she slid the curtain back.

I didn't know what to make of that. Was she saying she couldn't have kids? That led me to think about whether she wanted kids. And did I? The answer was yes, but not anytime soon.

"Lux," I whispered, peeking inside the shower.

She was washing, but her face was red, like she might be crying.

"I have no doubt you know your body, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to ensure you don't get pregnant."

She glared, rinsing her body, and then stepping out. I moved back, surprised by the anger radiating off her. "Not to worry, Rush. Like I said, I can't get pregnant, but if, by some chance, it happens, you won't be on the hook." She took a towel from the rack and dried herself.

"Hey," I touched her arm, then took her chin so she would look at me. "Child or not, I'm already on the hook." I kissed her cheek. "And that's right where I want to be."

A hint of a smile lifted her lips. "Me too," she said.

"Good." I kissed her softly, hoping she could feel how much I cared for her. "I'm going to shower. Want to meet me in the kitchen??

"Don't tell me your hungry again?" she asked, pulling on the tee-shirt.

Her perky nipples poked through the shirt, and I felt my cock twitch. Everything about the woman was perfect.

"Not necessarily. But I could use a drink." I climbed in and closed the curtain.

"Yeah, I'll meet you in there."

I washed off and got out, using another towel to dry off. Then I dressed and headed into the living area. Lux was sitting at the counter, looking at her phone.

"Everything good?" I asked, heading over to the fridge for a beer.

"Fine." She rolled her eyes. "My mom texted a few times. I just texted her back saying not to worry."
