Sebastian’s breathing grows jagged, and my vision goes black. I arch my head backwards, losing control, about to fall over this cliff. He bites hard on my neck, drawing the final ragged cries from my mouth as waves of release take me over the edge.

For a few seconds, I’m the only one, but then I feel Sebastian stiffen, his biceps going hard on either side of my head. He pulses thickly till he groans and drops his chest back to mine.

“I think I get it now,” he says into my hair after a minute. “How people fall.”

I push him away just enough so I can see his face.

“I can tell you know how they rise again, too.” I laugh at the hint of pink that crosses his face. “So soon?” I giggle.

“Zoey, I’m not sure if I’ll ever get enough.”

SEBASTIAN

“After three weeks in this bucket, you’re telling me an RV mattress is better than the fancy ones on the cruise ship?”

“As long as you’re here with me, it’s better than any other bed,” Zoey says, shrugging.

“Didn’t you have a king-size in your cabin on the cruise?” I plant a kiss on her nose.

“Sure, but a double just means we’re closer together,” she rolls on top of me.

“Hmm, I do like this,” I say. “But come on, we’re late.”

Anna and Mike, Jamie and Oscar are driving up to Santa Barbara for the day to meet us. It’s already lunchtime, and we’re still naked. I can’t complain. If this is what an RV trip with Zoey Anderson is like, sign me up forever.

Except I have to get back to LA to start my new job with Mike, and Zoey’s about to film a pilot for a new Meghan-Zane crime series directed by Virginia Covney and Ezra Schwartzman. Now that they’re partnering- both at work and in the bedroom- they’ve decided against working with Grant Kevlar, but they’re keeping Zoey, since she’s such a dead ringer for Meghan. I can’t say I was unhappy to hear Grant was out on his ass. Even though Zoey reassures me there’s nothing between them, that there never was and never will be, I still don’t trust the Stunt Stud not to pull a fast one.

“Alright, let’s get dressed.” Zoey sighs, stretching and peeling herself off me. Once she stands, she peers between the slatted blinds.

“Sebastian, I think they’re here already. I see Anna’s car!” We scramble to make ourselves presentable, and when we emerge from the RV, the four of them are sitting at the picnic table at our campsite, laughing and talking.

“You’ll never guess what we found,” Jamie says.

“What?” Zoey asks.

“An ice cream parlor called Lick Me, on the road to Santa Barbara.”

“I still don’t get it,” Anna says.

“I know, babe.” Mike shrugs. “Will you guys explain what’s so great about that?”

“Tell me it sells Blueberry Balls.” Zoey grins. Anna and Mike exchange confused glances.

“I’m hoping for an Ore-oooooh Yes,” Oscar says.

“I’ll give you an oooooh yes later, if they don’t have any.” Jamie kisses him on the cheek.

“I can’t believe I ever thought you were with Zoey.” I shake my head. Jamie laughs, eyes dancing.

“Didn’t all this give me away?” He gestures across his entire body, which today he’s draped in a long, bright mumu over white capris.

“You know, I saw the world in black and white before I met Zoey.” I squeeze her hands across the picnic table, and she lets loose her megawatt smile. My heart skips a beat. “And even though she showed me there are shades of gray, I’m lucky enough to live in her technicolor world now.”

“Mike, I think you might be sainted for bringing Sebastian into Zoey’s life,” Anna says, laying her head on his shoulder.

“It was an unintentional good deed, and I’m grateful it all worked out.” He tilts his head against hers.
