“Why would you be staying here?”

“I don't reckon I have much of a choice, yet. Besides, for now, it's my bread and butter. I have a gig next week. After that, I don't know.”

“I know your family is in Arkansas. Will you go there?”

“I don't know if I can.”

I didn’t want to get into all that with Paisley. Her pussy wasn’t the only thing loose.

“Yeah. Word is you belong to the club, whether you're with Hallow or not so. Good luck getting out of that.”

Fuck, she already knew.

She went on, “I really don't see that he did too much wrong. I mean, yeah, it was an asshole move. But Hallow’s been up in you more times than you can count. I bet.”

“I guess that's why you're a whore. Because you don't care if someone rapes you.”

“But he didn’t rape you. Believe me, there’s a big difference between threatening and doing it.”

“It scared me all the same.”

“If you weren’t Hallow’s girl you wouldn’t last a week at Royal Road. You’re too sweet and innocent. Everyone knows it. Everyone can see what’s going on with you and Kingpin, too. But you’ll be back with Hallow in no time just so someone doesn’t take advantage of you. Good luck finding a place to sleep tonight and not be raped.”

Paisley kicked me out of her room.

In only a sheet, I went downstairs and locked myself in one of the rooms in the basement. I was determined to prove her wrong.

Chapter 12

Sky

Being the old lady to the President of a motorcycle club was no picnic. It took two days before our honeymoon even started, but when it did, it did. And no, I couldn’t get out of bed by the time Kingpin finished with me.

And yeah, I’d walked in on Kingpin hugged up on that little southern belle in front of his piano, where I knew the two of them had spent a load of time together. She cried her little eyes out into his chest. What do they say here in the south?

Nothing but crocodile tears.

Boy, she was laying it on thick.

In the time I'd been here, I never suspected Eve wanted my biker. The club whores were one thing. Memphis and Junebug didn't care one bit to play along with anything Kingpin wanted to do. They even played along when he wanted to convince my mom he was in love with me. They gave up their time with him for that scheme. I believed them leaving him alone for once gave him the freedom to finally fall in love. Those women had been holding him back.

But Eve was different. She was a one-man kind of woman. And up until now, her man had been Hallow. I could see the game she was playing.

When it came to Kingpin, I’d forgiven him. He swore his undying love, saying he only wanted me and that's why he married me. I had no choice but to believe him. Over the next few days, he sure showed me he loved me. He even said he wanted to get away to a little cabin in the woods.

But the interruptions kept coming.

“Love, I'm sorry. I've got Church.”

“Forgive me. The cops are here.”

“I swear I'll be back later. I've gotta join my boys on this run.”

When he was gone, I went to Royal Road and hung out with Paisley, Cece, Leo, and Maren.

Maren was our new dancer. Like the strippers, she called herself an exotic dancer, but she actually was one. Coming from some circus, she seemed more like a contortionist to me. However, she could belly dance and twerk like no one’s business. Her performances caused so much jealousy in the club whores, I loved it. For one thing, Kingpin hired her when he’d started seeing me and pretty much treated her like an employee instead of a whore. That drove them crazy. To them, it didn’t seem fair Opry wasn’t pressuring her to entertain certain guests, as in have sex with them.

“That’s not what we hired her for,” Leo mocked Opry. “She’s a rare treat... I kid you not. Those were his words. Fuck, if I weren’t greasing his pole, he’d expect me to put out. Memphis never forced us.”
