She snorted as she threw her head back, “Sorry, no threesomes with my sister and her boytoy.”
“That isnotwhat I was suggesting. I was merely stating that maybe when I’ve gotten what I need from him, you can have him for a while.”
“Since when do we share men?” She asked and then put her hand up, “Forget I said that. We have shared quite a few, haven’t we?”
I sighed, and scooted off the chaise lounge, “Yes, we have, and a few of them are expecting us to be downstairs soon. I should go change.”
“Yeah, I’ll see you down there in a little while.”
“You’re staying here?”
She leaned back and stared up at the stars, “I’m going to take up where you left off in your counting. Maybe between the two of us, we can get the job finished.”
I laughed softly as I headed back inside. Joshua stood inside the door and I forced myself not to sigh. “You really did not have to wait for me, Josh. You know I am safe up here.”
“You are never safe.” He stated huskily.
“Why do you think that? Is there something that I don’t know?” His hesitation was just long enough that I knew something was up. “What’s going on?”
“Someone tried to get in by way of the service elevator. Security caught him on camera just before he took it out.”
Anger radiated through my chest, “Who?”
“His name was Vince.”
“Was?”
“Yes.” He said just above a whisper.
I stepped around Joshua, “Why wasn’t I informed about this when it happened?”
“Because you were busy at the time.” He stated.
I spun back around and was in his face, he shifted back slightly. “I am never too busy that I could not be notified that someone had gotten into the private section of this building. What did he want?”
“He didn’t say.”
“He didn’t say, or you all didn’t give him time to say anything?”
“Rex didn’t ask.” Josh final replied.
I lifted a brow, “Rex? Rex took him out?” He nodded. “Then I will speak with my son. In the meantime, if something like this happens again, I want to be notified immediately, is that clear?”
“Even if you are indisposed?”
“Yes, even if I am screwing someone, Josh. You do not keep things from me. You got that? You could have easily slipped into my mind to let me know that someone was in the building. That is why I continue to share blood with you, so that you can easily communicate with me whenever it is needed.”
“I didn’t want to bother you.”
“Yeah, well, I suggest you bother me next time Joshua, or your services will be put to use doing something else. Is that understood?”
He looked extremely tense as he nodded. “Yes, Mistress.”
I was tempted to lean forward and ease his tension, but he needed to know that I was serious. I nodded abruptly toward him and then spun to take the stairs down to my apartment.
I was on the livid side as I changed clothes and brushed out my long hair, pulling it back and quickly pinning it up. No one should be keeping anything from me, especially not a breach in security.
When I finally got myself calmed down, I found Josh standing outside my door. I nodded to him and he followed me to the elevator, standing quietly at my side all the way down. I hit the stop button just before we got to the ground floor and spun on Joshua, putting him against the far wall, his head bouncing off the panel slightly.
