I grinned to myself on the way back to my seat, glad that I wasn’t the only one turned on by the choppy water bouncing us off one another in the pool.

When Zack returned to his chair, he asked if we were ready for a drink yet, and Marsha perked right back up from practically a dead sleep. “Yep, I’ll take one. Whatever cold, sweet drink they have on special.”

“Make that two,” I told him, but as he turned, a server was passing by, and he gave the man his order and took his seat.

For the next few hours, we had a few drinks, shared some chatter, and relaxed in the sun. By two, I was ready for a nap. The sun, breeze, and alcohol having calmed me so much that all I wanted to do was curl up in bed and doze off.

“I’ll walk you back to your room. Marsha, you coming back?”

“No, I’m going to go down to the main pool and find myself some companionship. You two have a nice nap.” She grinned at me as she walked away.

I was pretty sure she expected us to go back to my room and have sex, but I seriously needed a nap. Zack placed his hand on my back, his thumb brushing over my spine, and I began to wonder if I wanted to take that nap alone.

I already knew that Zack had a single room, and I wouldn’t put it past Marsha to come back to ours for something. As we climbed into the elevator, I tilted my head toward him. “What floor are you on?”

He studied me for a moment, and I wondered if I had the invitation obvious enough in my eyes. He turned to the panel, and instead of pushing nine for my floor, he hit seven. When he stepped back to me, he curled his hand around my hip and held me closer to him.

On the seventh floor, we stepped off, and he laced his fingers with mine, leading me down the hallway. He stopped in front of a door and turned to me again. “This is my room.”

I was pretty sure that I was getting the audaciousness to be so blunt from the alcohol. I leaned forward, my lips only an inch away, and whispered, “Then open the door, Zack.”
