“No way! There is no way I want to check out any before or after pictures that you take of boobs and eyebrows.”

Colt watched me for a minute. “I think you might be surprised.”

“I doubt that.”

“I guess we’ll see.” Colt moved to the other side of the bed to get out. “Are you hungry?”

“Yeah, I am.” I glanced sideways as he stood up and—holy mother of god!—“You only have your underwear on.”

“Yeah, well, I’m sure you’ve seen a man or two in his boxers before.” He headed to the door. “If you remember correctly, you wouldn’t let go of me last night. You had a hard-enough time letting me go into the bathroom. I wasn’t sure you would have let me go all the way to my room to put on pants.”

He flashed his eyebrows up twice and then walked out leaving me staring after his cute tight buns. Wow, if only I had felt better, I might have taken advantage of that. Damn!

Colt came back about thirty minutes later, showered and wearing jeans and a t-shirt. In his hands was a tray with coffee and an omelet. “You do eat eggs, right?”

“I eat anything,” I blurted as he set the tray down.

I heard Colt clear his throat and realized what he must have thought. Fine, whatever. Let him think what he wanted.

Colt reminded me that his mother was coming for lunch, then left me to eat alone, saying he had to make a few phone calls. He dashed out the door before I could bring up the subject of her fiancé again.

Around eleven-thirty, Colt came back to check on me. “How are you doing?”

“I’m alright.”

“Do you want more medicine?” He reached for the prescription bottle on the dresser, but I shook my head.

“I hate the way that messes with my head.”

“Yeah, I do, too, but if you are in too much pain, it’s better that you take it.”

“Actually, I’m really not feeling that bad. Do you have any ibuprofen or acetaminophen? I could take that for now.”

He went to get some and came back with a fresh glass of water. “Do you feel well enough to try and take a shower?”

“I thought I wasn’t supposed to get my stitches wet?”

“You’re not supposed to get them wet, but I know a trick to keep them dry.”

“Oh, man, I’d love a shower,” especially after waking up last night covered in sweat. I could just imagine how bad I smelled after several days without a shower. I might not like to clean my house, but I was meticulous about my hygiene.

Colt left the room again and when he came back, he had a roll of plastic wrap. “What are you going to do with that?”

“I’m going to wrap your belly with it. It will keep your sutures dry and also give you support while you are stretching to wash your hair,” He paused and let his eyes travel over my upper body, “unless you want me to climb in and help you.”

“Yeah, like that’s going to happen.”

“Not today, but it will.”

“What happened to the no-sex rule?”

“Did we list that as an actual rule? I don’t remember. I think we just decided that it was better that we don’t.”

“No,” I crossed my arms over my chest and replied, “you decided that we weren’t going to have sex. I believe you said that you wanted to show me how a man treats a woman like a lady. You definitely didn’t say anything about making her scream your name.”

“Hmm, I might have to rethink those rules.” He motioned for me to get up.

“Stop teasing,” I said as I got to my feet.
