Her arms held me tight as the kisses became more intense, and I knew that we needed to back off.If we didn’t, the passion that we shared would take us somewhere we didn’t want to be—yet.I pulled away slowly, resting my forehead on hers and taking a moment to calm my breathing.
“You have no idea how much I want you, Kris.Not just to make love to you, but to have you with me—to make you mine forever.”
“I know.I can feel it.I feel the same thing.”She glanced toward the door, and it opened.I leaned forward away from her, wondering if Hugh was about to burst in, but it was Isaac.
“Mistress.”He nodded to her as he closed the door and then glanced around at the stars cast on the walls and smiled.
She sat up and leaned back against a pillow behind her.“Zander, I need to try something.”
“What?”
“I need you to let me feed from you.”
“Why?We are already bonded.I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m dying to have you at my vein.”
She glanced at Isaac.“Isaac thinks that your blood might be strong enough for the baby and me.If it is, I won’t need Hugh to stay.”
My eyes went wide, and I looked between the two of them.“Are you sure?I always thought that the father’s blood was the most important blood, or one of his line, at least.”
“Yes, that is true,” Isaac said huskily.“But you are of the master bloodline; your blood is strong, and since you are reborn, the child might be able to thrive on your blood also.”
“We just want to test it.We don’t want to get your hopes up, but if it works, I can break my mating with Hugh—”
“And mate with me,” I replied, and she nodded.I held my wrist out to her.“Then, by all means, feed.”
Kristin glanced at Isaac again.“He’s going to remain in case things get out of control.Plus, I need him to tell me if she is okay with this.”
“I understand.”
Kristin took my wrist, and her fangs dropped.The stars reflecting in the room were the only light illuminating what was happening.She brought my wrist to her mouth and scored it.I shivered as she drew her first mouthful, and my groin began to throb with the need I felt for her.Isaac shifted on the balls of his feet, but I nodded to him and held myself still.
Kristin whimpered as she took another mouthful, and her eyes were closed as she swallowed and took another one.I counted each mouthful, there were nine in total, and then she removed her fangs and licked the holes.
Her eyes were wide and slightly glowing in that incredible liquid silver color that they got when she used her power.
She looked at Isaac expectantly.“Isaac, what is going on?”
He was pensive for a moment as he closed his eyes, but then he smiled at Kristin.“She likes it, Mistress.His blood will be good for her.”
I wasn’t sure if I should jump up and punch a fist into the air while screaming whoo-hoo or if I should push her back and take her now.All I knew was that Kristin was going to be mine, and hopefully, sooner rather than later.
