“No, I would,” I replied. “I’ll speak to him about that later.”

“Just something to think about.”

“I appreciate that, Wes.”

When I hung up, I joined them in the living room, where they sat on the couch next to each other. Mike watched me cross the room, then whispered something to Harley that made him giggle. A moment later, Mike followed me into the kitchen and, using his body, herded me into the laundry room, and he pushed the door almost closed.

His hands took hold of me and pulled me to his mouth again. God, I loved it when he did that. He lifted me in one quick movement and dropped my butt on top of the counter I used to fold clothes. I locked my legs around his waist and pulled his groin tight against mine, making his desire for me so evident.

He ran his lips down my neck as his hand brushed over my breasts. “Jesus, I want you so fucking bad, Candy.”

“I know,” I purred toward him. “I do too.”

He pulled back. “What time do kids go to sleep?”

“Um, seven? Eight? I don’t know.”

He looked me straight in the eye. “It can’t fucking come soon enough.” Then he pressed his lips back to mine.

I was right there with him. I had been missing him every night, and now that I had him here, I was dying to have him fully.

“Excuse me, Candy,” Harley said, and the two of us jumped apart. He looked nervous about interrupting us.

“What’s up, buddy?”

“Your phone was ringing.” He held it out to me. “I couldn’t find you.”

I hopped off the counter. “I’m sorry, Harley. Thank you so much for bringing my phone to me. Let’s see who called.” I unlocked my phone and found a missed call from Laney.

I stepped into the kitchen. “I should call her back. Excuse me, guys.”

As I stepped away, I heard Harley say, “You sure do kiss her a lot for her not being your girlfriend.”

I heard Mike laugh. “Yeah, I guess I do.”

Laney answered. “Hey, Laney, sorry I missed your call. What’s up?”

“You home or working?”

“Home, why?”

“I have the papers to sign. Can reach out to Mike and see when he can stop by to sign them?”

“I can ask him right now. He’s here with me.”

“What is he doing there?”

“It’s a long story, but you will see for yourself very soon. Give us a little while, and we will be over.”

“Feel like pizza? I don’t feel like cooking tonight.”

“Pizza would be great.”

“Alright, let me know when you are on your way, and I will order it.”

After we hung up, I went to find Mike and Harley and told them we were going out for dinner, then explained to Mike that Laney had paperwork for us to sign.

“Does she know about Harley?”
