“Aida is no succubus,” I said protectively. “My Mistress is the demoness of Sloth, the princess of Hell, Abaddon.”

Magnus lifted an eyebrow. “Is that so? You are one of the Devil’s kin?”

“I am.”

“Hm.” Magnus grunted thoughtfully, draining the rest of his drink. “And I am a son of Ninos, the original vampire.”

AIDA

The car rolledto a stop in front of the townhouse on the Upper East Side, and none of us moved as the driver came around. My mind was still reeling, attempting to process everything I’d learned in the last few hours.

I needed to speak to my brothers and decipher their true intentions. It didn’t seem like an accident that the man they expected me to marry was the first-born vampire son. And what they couldn’t tell me, I intended to find out from history. Somewhere, in some place, someone had written something that might explain what purpose the binding of a demon and vampire might have.

“Aida, darling.” Magnus held out his hand, standing outside of the vehicle now. My body bristled when he called me darling, a reaction I was unfamiliar with. Perhaps it was the human vessel answering to the performative affection—it certainly wasn’t me … I don’t think.

Talon stood behind him, watching us with careful eyes. And then there was this new information I had to process as well.

Mates. I assumed my proclivity for Talon came only from the convenience of his constant nearness. Why look for something more when what I needed could be provided by him? It was my nature as a demon of sloth, after all.

“We won’t be sharing rooms right away. I would like my own.” I took his hand and slithered out of the car, unfolding myself next to him. I was still a good head and a bit beneath him, though. What I lacked in stature, I made up for with power.

“Of course, I have already called ahead to make those arrangements.” He nodded at Talon and then led the way. Talon only paused behind me long enough to gather the luggage I’d brought with me before following us to the door.

Inside, I was shown to my room, and as Talon set the bag down, he gave me a once over before nodding. “I’ll leave you be with your thoughts, Mistress.”

As always, he read me like a book. Perhaps not because of his loyalty to me by nature and something more. I should’ve considered the possibility sooner.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, I pulled out my phone and toyed with the idea of calling Matteo or Brando and reaming them out. But that wouldn’t get me anywhere, and a fight would be exhausting. I idly scrolled through the phone contacts while considering my options. I didn’t like being blind-sided like this, and I always liked to have all the information because I preferred to work smarter, not harder.

Through the crack Talon left in the door, soft voices drifted through.

“I should tell you more about Aida so you understand her better if you’re to be … married.”

“I can learn about her in time, Talon. I find myself more intrigued by your words earlier.”

Magnus shifted into view, reaching out a hand. “There is nothing more to say than what I have. My loyalty is to her, always, but when it comes to harming you, I cannot.”

“Mates, you said,” Magnus whispered. “I have never heard of three different species coming together by the bond.”

“Nor I, but I imagine it’s not out of the realm of possibility if we’re experiencing it.” Talon paused. “Does that mean you feel a connection to Aida too?”

“I am interested in her, to be sure. I do not yet know if it is because of a bond or the intrigue of being so near a child of the Devil.”

“Because Aida tends to send others to do her bidding, she is often overlooked by the others for her effectiveness. But, I can assure you, sloth or not, she is a powerful and incredible woman.”

“And you? What of you, beast of Hell?”

A moment of silence followed his question, and I found myself leaning to see what was happening. Through the crack, the two stared at one another until seemingly the dam broke. Talon grabbed Magnus’ face, pulling him in for a starving kiss.

Heat curled in my belly as their tongues clashed, both grappling for control. Two Alphas attempting to dominate each other, but both willing to concede for the other. The flood of desire pooled at the apex of my thighs as I clenched them together, unable to tear my eyes away from the intimate moment.

The voice in my head told me to stand and go to them both, but two men was way too much work. I was used to being worshipped, putting in the most minimal of effort for the greatest reward. And while having two men kneel before me, offering their love and devotion was extremely appealing, it still felt like work. And that was enough to keep me glued to my spot like a voyeur.

Magnus got the upper hand for a moment, cupping Talon’s jaw as he backed him against the stair railing, pinning him in place. His hand roamed his body, cupping his cock and palming the hardness. The growl Talon let out shot right through me, making me bite back a moan.

How far would they go, and for how long was I willing to watch? Could they sense my eyes on them?

Neither looked my way as Magnus got the zipper of Talon’s jeans open and slid his hand inside. Talon snarled again, grabbing Magnus’s shoulder as he forced him to his knees. Four hands grappled with the button and zipper, pushing away fabric to reveal the treasure beneath.
