Nothing. Silver must be too close.

“Wait, did you say a man on a throne?” Donovan asks a few minutes later.

“Yeah, that's what she said.”

He claps loudly, stands, and starts rummaging through the chest. Pulling out a children's bedtime tales book weathered with age, he sits next to me, flipping through a few pages until he finds what he needs, then drops it onto my lap.

“Why would Wells be sending her visions of that? It’s something our parents would tell us about as kids to make us behave...”

“I don’t know man, but something’s going on. Fuck, Wells, what have you gotten into, man?” he says quietly, standing. “We need to find him, and Silver can’t know anything about it.”

“I agree—maybe we can get one of the girls to come stay with her, or Clara. Silver doesn't need to find out the evils of this world yet, and if Wells is sending her visions of the devil, then something bad is going on here.” I make my way back upstairs. Don extinguishes the fire and follows behind.

Wells, where are you... and why are you including Silver in this? It’s too soon. She'll find out soon enough, but this will most definitely scar her.

I move towards her room to check on her and she’s passed out. Quietly, I close her door and climb in behind her. We still haven’t had sex and we won’t until all secrets have been revealed, but I like sleeping with her in my arms. I reach around her to wrap her in my arms tight, and she sighs.

I need to see these nightmares for myself—the only way I know how is a sleeping potion. I’ll have to get the ingredients tomorrow at Miranda’s, but right now it’s naptime.
