"I assume Nick is your brother."

"Yes, one of them. I have two brothers and two sisters."

"And you're the youngest?"

"Uh-huh. My mom regretted not pushing my sisters more, and she pushed me to dance. I was really into it when I was a kid."

"How into it? Competitions? I think my cousin's kid does that."

"Oh, yeah, well, it started with that. I was serious about it, though. I was on a TV show for a little while."

"A TV show? Are you kidding? That's huge."

I could hear the smile in Isaac's voice, and I closed my eyes imagining it. I could not help but smile and I was glad he couldn't see me. I felt happy.

"It wasn't a big deal. It was a reality show, and it only ran for two seasons."

"What was it called?"

"Dance Camp."

"Dance Camp? On what station?"

"Nickelodeon."

"You're joking."

"No, I'm not. Why? Do you know that show?"

"No, but still. Nickelodeon? That's a big deal."

"It was a big deal at the time," I agreed. "That's where I met Sabrina. She was on that show with me."

Isaac and I talked about Dance Camp which led us to a conversation that lasted two hours. Time got away from us, and it was after 10pm when I looked at the clock.

"Hey, I should let you go," I said. "I'm sure I'll have to cover for those classes again tomorrow."

"Oh, okay, yeah. I'm really glad we got to talk. The book was dramatic. I didn't want you to think I was obsessed with you. Jill pumped that stuff up for the romance."

"Yeah, I know, she put words into my mouth, too."

"So, I'm sorry for that," he said. "I knew it was a romance novel, but I didn't know it would be so… romantic."

I laughed. "In real life, we're icing injuries and cleaning our fridges. I just sat on the couch for the last two hours. I didn't even realize it had been that long."

"At least we're finally being honest with each other," he said. "Seeing as how most of what's been said about us so far has been made up."

"Yeah, I know, right?" I said.

"Hey, while we're being candid, do you have a boyfriend? I'm asking because I'd really like to call you back sometime, but I don't want to if—"

"Yes. I do. I'm talking to a guy. It's not serious, but it's tricky because his mom is my boss. I love my job, and I've worked with Ms. Kathy for years, but Eddie and I only recently started talking." I was quiet for a second, but then I continued. "I'm sorry. I don't know what to say other than breaking up with my boyfriend under these circumstances seems both fool-hardy and also like such a good idea."

"I think it's a great idea," Isaac said.

"What? Breaking up with him?"

"Yes."
