"And you just laid there?"

"Yes. I'm comfortable with you on me, Grace."

I curled into his chest affectionately, thanking him for being so sweet.

"Did you watch the new video?" I asked.

"Yes."

"How did it come out?"

"You know it's good. Ozzy always does such a good job."

"I know it's good, no offense to Ozzy because he's amazing, but I know it's good becauseyou'reso good. I feel like I could video you singing that song with my phone and it would go viral."

"I don't think it's going viral. It'll get some hits because Mac has a lot of subscribers."

"From what?"

"From playing football, and this other video he did at a press conference one time."

"I remember that video," I said. "So, he wants to post yours on his YouTube?"

"No, Jonah said we'd need to do another channel under my name and Mac can just share it. They've got it all taken care of. I told Ozzy back at the house that he could work it out with Jonah and Jane."

"When is it going to happen?" I asked.

"I don't know. I guess just kind of whenever I respond. He'll probably post it right now while it's on his mind." Alec let out a long sigh that sounded heavy-hearted.

"What?" I asked.

"I don't know if I'm quite prepared for the aftermath of doing this."

"What aftermath?"

"People who are in bands like Split Decision don't normally go around releasing worship songs on the internet."

I sat up, staring at him, smiling at him. "That's what makes it so exciting."

"I hope it's good-exciting and not stress-exciting."

"You've got it, whatever it is," I said. I believed it wholeheartedly. He was the bravest person I knew. "If anybody's capable of maintaining their coolness while getting Jesus-freakish, it's you."

He smiled thoughtfully at that.

"Seriously though, Alec. You don't need to worry about the aftermath. Just step through the doors as they open. You'll be given the right amount of strength to handle situations as they come." I stared at his face. "How did I sleep till dinner time?" I added.

"You needed it. They arrested Sara."

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah, the detective called and talked to Jonah, and Jonah texted me the conversation. Apparently, she turned herself in—came in apologizing, saying she had been off of her meds and that she meant to throw the drink on you and not the gas. She said she didn't know what happened."

"There wasn't even a drink involved," I said. I knew she was lying, but I was thankful she was in custody.

"Jonah said they're holding her for questioning and that they'll work it out with my lawyers. I think we'll be able to get by without taking the stand or anything like that."

"It would be wonderful if that could happen," I said.
