“Take me,” I tell him as I lift my hips and offer them to him again.

He makes another choked sound as he slides in and out of me, building up tempo as he does so until he's pulling nearly his entire length and girth from me and then stabbing it back inside.

He's hitting this place inside me over and over again that nearly causes me to see stars. I feel a pressure building like it was whenever he was kissing me down there, but it's inside me now and it feels even more intense.

“Julian,” I beg. I don't know what I'm begging for, just that whatever it is he can give it to me. His hand comes up to gently cup my throat, and his golden eyes blaze down into mine wildly as he gasps out, “Whose are you?”

I look up at him and lick my lips. His eyes darken, and his hold on my throat tightens as he prompts me, “Are you mine, Amelia?”

“Yes,” I tell him.

“Say it,” he demands. “Tell me you’re mine. Tell me I'm the only man who's ever going to know you this way.”

“I'm yours, Julian,” I tell him. “Only yours. You're the only one I ever want.” I feel the truth of the words wash over me. It’s true. Julian is the only one I've ever wanted. Even before I knew he was real, when I used to see him in my dreams, I always compared every man in real life to him. No one was ever going to compare to him anyway. Maybe he did kidnap me. Maybe this is all wrong, but it feels so right, and I can't fight it. I don't even want to.

I want to be Julian's. I want him. I want this. I want us. Whatever that means.

“Then take me, sweet girl,” he tells me as he thrusts inside me one last time.

I scream out as I shatter into a million pieces. My entire body feels like it's hit with a blinding light as white-hot pleasure courses through me.

Julian groans low and deep in his throat, and his wings fan out behind him as he throws his head back. His length pulses inside me as he releases warm streams into me. I feel them splashing against my walls as his hot moisture floods inside me, and that catapults me into another convulsion.

I’m rippling around him, and he's rasping against my ear as he buries his face in my neck and holds me close to him.

In this moment, we're one being. It’s like so much more than our bodies are joined. This is a joining of our souls. I've never felt as close to anyone as I do Julian just now, and when he lifts his head and those golden eyes of his blaze down into mine, I know he feels the same way.

He kisses me deeply and passionately as he rolls us until I'm laying atop him, completely spent.

I couldn't move to get off him if I tried, and it doesn't look like he wants me to anyway because he wraps his arms around me and holds me against his chest.

I close my eyes and nuzzle my head against him, breathing in his comforting scent as I drift off into the most peaceful sleep I've ever had.

Julian

I'm holding a sleepingAmelia against my chest, stroking my fingers through her silken red locks when I get an urgent missive from my seer.

I must speak with you immediately.

I hear her voice crystal clear in my mind as she telepathically speaks to me. I know it must be urgent for her to resort to this mode of communication. She usually doesn't invade my thoughts like this.

I frown as I contemplate just what could be wrong. I don't want to disturb Amelia, though, so I gently slip out from underneath her and watch as she curls around a pillow like a sleepy little kitten.

I regretfully transport myself away from my love and to Glenda.

“This better be important,” I warn her sternly once I'm towering over her. Glenda doesn’t cower, though. She knows I'm no threat to her. I have a soft spot for the old woman, and she's helped me immeasurably throughout the centuries. I almost regard her as a mother figure, and I know she regards me as the son she never had.

The worry I see in her eyes is enough to put me on my guard. “What is it, Glenda?” I prompt her. “Out with it. What have you seen?”

“It’s about Amelia,” she tells me cautiously.

I feel my body go cold at the look on her face.

“What about her?” I growl.

She hesitates, something that’s completely unlike her.
