But the way she moved, the smile on her gorgeous face, the blush on her cheeks…those things made him want to risk it. He wanted to touch her skin, kiss her lips, and make her sigh his name.
That’s why he left the bar and crossed the room.
He slid his hands onto her hips just as the song changed to something else. One he didn’t recognize. She looped her wrists around his neck and smiled up at him.
“Are you having fun?” she asked.
He nodded, his pulse pounding through his body. He stared into her eyes, willing her to read his mind. To know what he was thinking and maybe then he would never have to say it.
He ran his hands from her hips up to her ribs and back down.
And thought the words as hard as he could.
And hoped she could read his mind.

It was the intense pressure in her bladder that drove her out of the most comfortable sleep she’d ever had.
She rolled out from under the heavy arm on her belly and dropped her feet to the floor.
Her floor.
In her bedroom.
In her loft.
She stood up and blinked against the gray light filling her room.
Dave was in her bed.
Shirtless.
Well, atleastshirtless.
She couldn’t see the rest of him because the sheets were pulled up to the middle of his back. He was sleeping on his stomach one arm extended onto her side.
It had been his arm pressing into her bladder.
She rushed to the bathroom and glanced at herself in the mirror on her way to the toilet.
She was wearing underwear and a t-shirt.
Not her own t-shirt.
It was definitely a man’s white undershirt. It came to her mid-thigh.
Flashes of the night before came back to her.
Dancing until they shut the place down. Getting tacos at a food truck with ambiguous signage. Drinking tequila like it was water. Barely catching their flight on time.
She was thankful they’d packed ahead of time at Leslie’s suggestion. She’d been able to change out of her dress and into sweats before Darius and Dallas made them leave.
