Her alarm went off and she slapped at her phone on the bedside table.

She threw the covers off herself and the air cooled her heated skin.

Movement to her right stopped her. She frowned at the ceiling, blinked, and then propped herself up on an elbow and looked at the figure beside her.

She tugged the covers away from his sleeping face and stared.

She rubbed her face with a hand.

Yep. That was Dave. Burrowed into her covers like a kid, his mouth slightly parted and his hair sticking up all over the place.

She sat up and tried to piece together what was going on but she… couldn’t.

She’d definitely gone to bed alone last night. She glanced down at her pajamas—sleep shorts and an oversized t-shirt—not her cutest. So, yeah. Definitely gone to bed alone.

She snatched up her phone and checked her messages.

Nothing.

She checked recent calls.

Also nothing.

She had no memory of letting him in last night.
