He pulled back and looked into her eyes. It took her a second to focus through the lusty haze. When she did, he was aiming a crooked grin at her like he knew exactly what he did to her mind and body.

He traced the shell of her ear with a finger and it set off tiny fireworks from her hair to her center.

“I love you,” he said. “You’re it for me. You’re all I want.”

Her heart did a shimmy and a shuffle before it curled inward and purred like a kitten.

“I love you,” she said but before she’d really finished, he was kissing her again. He wrapped his arms low around her back while his tongue tangled with hers. She slid both hands into his hair. He bent slightly and then stood, lifting her feet off the ground.

He walked them backwards into his bedroom and then set her feet back on the floor.

His hands slid under the hem of her sweater and lifted, and it was gone.

His gaze traveled over her breasts, down her torso, back up again, and his eyes darkened. “I have wanted this for a very long time.”

“Me too,” she said, reaching greedy fingers for his hoodie. She knew she was being too eager but she couldn’t help it. She loved him and he loved her and if that made her eager, than so be it.

He took the shirt off, tossed it to the side, and she placed her hands on his inked chest.

Her fingers danced over the lines and art on his skin.

She’d never been with someone with so many tattoos. Had never considered tattoos all that attractive. But these markings were Dave’s. He’d chosen them and wore them. Something about that made every design and image personal and important.

He put a finger under her chin and lifted so she was looking at him. In his eyes swirled welcome and desire and joy. She wanted to dive into those deep blue waters and live there.

“I am yours,” he said. “Forever.”

Three orgasms (two for her, one for him) and one destroyed pillow later, they were wrapped in his sheets near the center of the king-size bed. They were on their backs. She had her head on his chest and he had an arm wrapped around her shoulder, and he was making lazy circles with his fingertips along her arm.

He sighed the sigh of a very content man and she smiled.

“I’m happy,” she said softly. At the same time the confession left her lips, her heart took that final tumble into bliss.

And Dave was waiting there to catch her.

“Me too,” he replied.

He stretched his right arm out in front of them. “You see that tattoo on my wrist?”

She grasped his forearm and pulled it closer so she could read the script in the low light.

“The force is with her,” she read out loud.

“That’s you.”

She stared at the words written in fine point and tried to process what he’d said.

“I got it just after the NMAs,” he added. He let out a deep breath. “I knew I was in love with you and I wanted to document it.”

Her heart pounded, making her hands tremble. She brought his wrist to her lips, closed her eyes, and kissed the words. She held him there, trying to impress upon him how much this small gift meant, how deep it went into her heart.

This man was like no one she had ever known.

So he was confusing to some. So his thoughts moved more laterally than linearly.

But his soul matched hers in ways she never dreamed possible.
