She closed her eyes, willing it to last only a few seconds.

“My love?”

Alexa stirred before her senses absorbed the voice and seized her out of the darkness. She sat up, blinking when she found the space empty and his pad…

“Wow. That’s not what I expected.”

She glimpsed their figures, then the color filled in. While every bit of pore, fur, and shine was copied, their faces and environment were a swirl of other colors that made it look like they were floating somewhere unknown…untouchable. It kept their anonymity while capturing their essence, from the Fae’s serenity to her bear’s resting energy.

“And how did it turn out despite not being what you expected?”

“I like it,” she said. “Where are they?”

“Sleeping in another area. It’s a big underground space, and if they had wanted to fool me, they would have done so from the beginning.”

“You trust too much.”

“I put them in a special room,” he added, features glinting. “Somewhere that keeps energy locked tight. For their comfort and mine.”

“That’s more like it,” she approved, grinning. He still had paint on him, so she brushed it away, then the specks that were stuck in crevices of his skin that he had missed. When they stayed, she sighed. “Do you have a shower in here?”

“Yes. A few.”

“Lead the way.”

He led her to a room with a huge bed and the coolest shell lamps, then to a shower that was filled with scented soaps. She took one and tugged him to the shower, where she helped him remove his clothes before she turned it on. The cold gush of water had her squeaking and him chuckling, but it soon turned warm enough for her fur to retreat. Then her hands were moving, soaping him up and rubbing the paint stain before she rubbed something else.

“My love, don’t play,” he rasped, voice like hot whiskey against her ear. “You know I’m not going to be able to resist.”

“Don’t resist,” she teased, kissing the parts of his skin that had grown red from her vigorous removal of paint. She stroked him in time with it, parted her lips for the kiss he wanted, and pushed him back gently. Slowly, her lips trailed downwards, where she felt his belly clench and emphasize abs that she could lick. Fingers grabbed her hair, holding her in place.

“Don’t you have to be home by now?”

“In a bit. After this.”

She swatted his hands away until only one remained. She lowered her kisses to the tip of his cock that touched his stomach, already leaking precum. When there was no protest, her tongue slipped out and did an experimental lap—a move that had him clutching her hair harder but no longer pulling her up.

“What did I do to deserve this?”

She glanced up. Blue orbs burned her with his arousal. “Nothing. I’m just in the mood.” Then, “Don’t stop me.”

He didn’t. Edmund took to the blowjob like a man who couldn’t help himself, and perhaps he couldn’t. The helplessness he portrayed when he threw his head back against the tiles and called her name in a plea gave her the same surge of power as when she had him in her hands. The thrill it held was euphoric and one she would never forget as she sucked and licked with all that she had until he was on the verge. She still didn’t stop, a last hard suck enough to render the strong man quaking as he succumbed to bliss.

When Edmund pulled her up, her knees were quivering from his reaction, and she gave in to the kisses and deliberate touching that followed. But life had a way of reminding her this wasn’t hers, and the alarm was enough to have her reluctantly stepping out of the shower before he could carry her to bed.

“I have to go. It’s midnight.”

“Past midnight,” he corrected, glancing at a watch resting on the bedside table. “Come on.”

“Are you leaving them?”

“Can’t I?” he mused lightly. “They are old enough to be left alone.”

“Do you trust them alone in your abode?”

“Yes.” He perused her. “Would you?”

There was silence as she reflected over it before her heart gave her the answer. “Yes. I knew Meriam was telling me the truth.”
