“This popcorn is the bomb dot com.” Luca’s voice and the delicious smell pull my attention from my phone. I click it off and slide it under my leg, reaching out for the giant tub of buttery popcorn.
“It smells yummy,” I agree.
Luca slides in on his side, placing a large soda in the cup holder between us with a stack of napkins next to it. “Miss me?” He winks, and heat floods between my legs. How does he still do that?
“Nope, just waiting for the popcorn.” I grin.
“Wow, Nev. You cut me deep,” he teases, pressing a hand against his chest.
I jab him in the side, my elbow just grazing the soda. My eyes go wide.Shit, that was close.
“Whoa there. Careful, woman. No spills or buttery fingerprints. She’s precious.”
It makes me want to do it even more. “Likethese ones?” I ask as I hold up my butter fingers that just shoved a huge handful in my mouth. I move my hand closer to his dash, and he freezes.
“You wouldn’t dare.” His sexy mouth is half turned up with a playfulgrin, but his posture is rigid.
My fingers move closer until they are mereinches,but then I burst out laughing and jerk them away. Luca breathes out the hugest sigh of relief, and I can’t help but laugh more. “Oohh,this is fun!”
“No, not really.” He shakes his head and takes the popcorn from me, but I know he’s laughing inside. I can see it all over his face. “No more for you.”
“Sure thing. One kiss on the tip of your dick would change your tune real quick.”
“You could have all the popcorn for that,” he mumbles as he fiddles with the radio dial.
“What was that? I didn’t quite hear you.”
“Ready to watch the movie?” He turns back with that cocky smirk.
“You know I wouldn’t ever hurt your baby,” I tease, reaching over with my clean hand to tickle him under his chin.
My cheeks flush, and I jerk my hand back.What the fuck am I doing?“Sorry,” I mutter while shoving more popcorn in my mouth.
I feel his eyes on me, and I hope hedoesn’t say anything.
Luca clears his throat and takes a sip of soda. “It’s nice here and bonus points—not manypeople.”
“Right? Less chance of being seen.”
“Yeah,” Luca says as the previews before themain showstart on the screen.
Silence grows between us, and while it’s usually comfortable, right now, it’sanything but.
