“Mm…” He makes a happy little growling sound in his throat as he straightens the neckline of my dress, covering the wet spot he left over my nipple.

“You know what, get jealous and possessive anytime you want,” I chuckle softly. “If this is how you make it up to me, I don’t mind.”

The dimple dips in Mateo’s cheek as he smirks at me, his fingers hooking under my panties. But instead of putting them back in place, he presses a finger inside me. My breath hitches as I stare up at him, mouth gaping.

He leans down to whisper in my ear. “I don’t need to get jealous, not while you’re walking around with my cum dripping out of your pussy.”

He leans back to watch my face, pulling his finger out of me and rubbing his cum over my slit.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

He gives me a devastatingly handsome smile, clearly pleased with himself before placing his finger in my open mouth. I suck it, my eyes holding his. I thought I was satisfied, but the renewed ache between my legs is saying otherwise. Mateo pulls his finger free of my lips and gives me a quick kiss, putting my panties back in place while I gawk at him.

“You’re absolutely filthy,” I say, shaking my head.

“Yeah, but you love it.” Mateo grins at me as I smooth my dress back down my hips.

“Zero arguments over here. You just keep surprising me, that’s all.”

Mateo wraps his arms around me, hugging me close to his chest. I slide my arms around his waist and tuck my head against his chest. Taking a deep breath, I enjoy the way his shirt smells like him; like sunshine and cedar and happiness.

His cheek rests on top of my head, his breath ruffling my hair. We stand like that for a long time and I’m just deeply… content. He makes me feel so deeply at peace. The world could burn down around us, and I truly wouldn’t care as long as he held me like this.

Another group of tourists pass by the end of the alley. I assume they’re a bachelorette party because one of them is screaming, “PENIS” repeatedly. They don’t spot us but it breaks the mood just a smidge. Mateo’s chest shakes against my cheek as he laughs.

“Well, that was romantic.”

“Mm-hm,” I grumble, tipping my face up to look at him. “We should probably go back inside.” Mateo nods, his whiskey eyes roving my face. “I really do love you.”

He leans down, kissing me softly. “I love you too.” His thumb strokes over my cheekbone. “It feels good to say that out loud.”

I nod, closing my eyes and leaning into his touch. My chest feels like it could burst. Have I ever been this happy? Have I ever felt this euphoric all the way down to my soul? Definitely not.

“Yeah, same here.” It may have taken me way too long, but I have officially caught up.

“Come on,” Mateo takes my hand, using the other to open the back door of the bar, holding it for me. “I owe you a margarita.”

We sneak back into the crowd, unnoticed. I keep an eye out for Javier so we can avoid that whole situation all together, but he’s nowhere to be seen.

Thank freaking God.

We join Asher, Lilah, and Ben at the bar and I give them a bright smile, trying to arrange my face in a way that doesn’t scream, “I just took it dirty in the alley, whatcha drinking?”

Mateo presses a kiss to my temple. “I’m going to get us some drinks. Back in a second.”

I nod and grin at him. “Thank you.”

Lilah is balancing her ice water on top of her beach-ball belly, laughing as one of the babies kicks it, making it wobble. Ben is perched on a bar stool, his chin resting on his fist. He’s staring at my sister’s stomach, wide-eyed behind his glasses and deeply fascinated.

“Party tricks?” I ask her.

“They don’t like the cold,” she shouts over the noise of the bar.

“Poor babies,” I say, taking the glass and rubbing the spot to warm it up.

“Easy! I’m not a lamp. You’re not going to get three wishes if you rub me,” she snarks.

“Well, not like that she won’t,” Ben chimes in.
