Until it was too much and he had to grab the sides of her head with both hands, holding her steady as he pumped hard into her. She didn’t take offense, letting him take over the thrusts, letting her teeth run along the length of him. Pain wrapped in unbelievable pleasure.

Her eyes lifted to him again just as he drove hard into the depths of her mouth, hitting the back of her throat, and it destroyed him.

Coming harder than he ever had. His seed erupting out of him in vicious waves that should be choking her, but she just held on, swallowing, sucking, staring at him with awe in her eyes.

All saints, how had he never come before like this? This was what it was to truly orgasm.

All those other times?

Nothing.

Base bodily function—that was it.

This. This was real.

Real and dangerous andshattering.

She didn’t let go of him until his cock softened slightly and he pulled out of her mouth. She looked down, almost sad at the loss of him from her lips.

“Vic…”

He didn’t have words. Have words for her. For any of it.

She looked up at him, the most magical smile on her face, like she’d just discovered a portal to the heavens. “Did I just do to you what you do to me?”

Damn.

His hands still clutching her head, he pulled her up his body, his lips crashing into her, his tongue diving deep into her mouth where he could taste his own seed mixing with her wetness still on his taste buds. Creating a flavor so carnal, so exquisite, he could easily drink it with every meal for the rest of his life.

She moaned into his mouth and he pulled away slightly, his words against her lips. “I think you did more.”

Her eyebrows lifted high and she drifted a breath away from him. “How is that possible?”

“I don’t know.” He shook his head under her stare. “I don’t know. But it happened.”

{ Chapter 16 }

Setting Fox down onto the floor to explore, Victoria stomped snow off her boots as she looked upward. The space above her soared upward to the Seahorn Castle entryway chandelier, already lit for the evening, a beacon to all her extended family that would be arriving over the next week.

She was a day ahead of schedule, even with all the delays that held her and Rafe back.

She still should have been faster. And she most certainly shouldn’t have been enjoying the journey—Rafe—as much as she had.

She was failing Eva.

“Victoria, you are here.” In front of her, the grey stone split staircase moved up to the next level where her father, Desmond Phillips, Earl of Troubant, appeared at the balcony that overlooked the entryway.

Relief etched clear on his face. He always looked like that when she arrived here. Like he could never quite believe that she was alive, that she would bring herself to him.

Not that not coming to Seahorn in December was ever much of an option. It was that, or roam around Wolfbridge by herself with just Claude and Lawrence to entertain her, as Reiner and Sloane and their children would all be here at Seahorn.

For all the strife that sat between them, she knew her father loved her, that he wanted her in his life. That wary relief creased into the lines on his face told her that. Each and every time.

His look shifted from her to the man standing behind her and he darted to the left, his bare feet so quick down the stone stairs that she feared for him tripping and cracking his head open. She smiled at his bare toes. He hated shoes of any sort, no matter the chill of the stone underneath his feet.

His eyes started to squint, then narrow on her face the closer he got to her, his stride rushing. Pulling to a stop in front of her, her grabbed her shoulders instead of pulling her into his customary hug. His look flickered to Rafe and then back to her, and he scrutinized her face, his stare pausing for a long moment on her right eye.

At first, it was just a flicker, but then full-blown rage exploded in his hazel eyes and his glare shifted over her shoulder to Rafe.
