“We are a good team,” Kane answered. There was a twinkle in his eye as he stared across the table at Heath.

They were good together, and Heath had no plans of ever letting Kane go.

“I want to propose a toast,” Davis exclaimed. “To old friends and new loves, may we cherish them all for the rest of our lives.”

The crowd joined with cheers. Heath would have never believed his life would turn out this way.

As the group made their way outside for an afternoon of games, Heath walked beside Kane, his arm looped through his and his cane in the other hand. A lovely picture of them like this years from now ran through his mind and warmed his heart. He stopped them so the others would go ahead of them.

“What is it? Is your leg bothering you?” Kane was always concerned for his welfare.

“I’m fine.” He pushed Kane against the wall and kissed him thoroughly. “I just wanted a moment alone with you.”

“How are you feeling?”

“I feel wonderful. I thought coming here, seeing everyone, I would be an outcast or worse, not have the old camaraderie we had before, but it’s just the same. They are the only true friends I had until you came into my life.”

“They are all wonderful chaps, and their wives are all gems. We are going to have a grand time. Besides, Dorian mentioned he’s in business with some textile factories, so we might need to mix some business with pleasure.”

At the word pleasure, Heath’s cock stirred to life. He pressed his pelvis against Kane’s and was rewarded with a low throaty groan from his partner.

“Not now, naughty boy. There are children around.”

“Very well, then. I expect to be properly compensated later tonight in bed.” He laid another kiss on Kane’s lips.

“My love, I don’t think there is any question of what will take place tonight. For now, let’s go join our friends.”

They walked, hand in hand, out into the bright afternoon sunlight. The sound of chatter and laughter filled the air.

“Come on, you two, we need another team for croquet,” Shaw shouted.

Kane gave Heath a pointed stare. “Just so you know, I am terrible at croquet.”

“Then we will have a fun time losing.” In view of everyone, he kissed Kane’s hand that he still held.

Heath knew he had already won with having Kane and the love that they shared. In the end, nothing else mattered as long as they had each other.

THE END
