“Like working for the same men our father did?”

Rogue squeezed his eyes shut and took a slow breath. “I don’t want to talk about that. I did what I had to do.”

“Just don’t do it anymore. There’s no need to now.”

He gave a sharp nod. “I know.”

“You know I don’t care how many people you sleep with. I’m just in a shit mood.”

“You and Grant both.”

“He’s going to be like that until we find out who our newest enemies are.”

“Yeah, but you don’t have to be in a bad mood. “

“You think TJ’s got some magic dick that’s going to make me forget all my troubles?”

Rogue grinned. “You don’t know he doesn’t.”

“I told you, fucking him is not an option.”

“Why?”

“I can’t stand him for one, and…”

Rogue raised his brows. “And what?”

“He’s an assassin.”

“You’ve killed before.”

For a second, the world swam in front of me. I had to steady myself against the fence.

“Rhys, are you…”

“I’m fine, just stop pushing me.”

“Okay. If you really don’t want him, maybe I’ll take TJ for a toss in the hay. It’s been awful lonely stuck on the ranch.”

Anger coursed through me, and I grabbed the front of Rogue’s shirt. “Don’t you dare.”

My asshole brother smiled. “That’s what I thought. You totally want him for yourself.”

“No. I don’t want you mixed up with any more fucking mobsters.”

“Especially not ones you’re hot for, right?”

“Rogue—”

His phone buzzed, and he glanced down. “It’s TJ. Maybe he’s got some news on the dead guy.”

I nodded and gestured toward his phone.

He answered, and his eyes widened at whatever TJ said. “No. That’s not… You’re serious… Uh-huh. Rhys’s right here… We’ll round up Grant and be there ASAP.” Rogue disconnected the call. “We got an ID on the body.”

“How?”

Rogue wrinkled his nose, a sure sign he didn’t want to tell me.
