“If you don’t tell me what it’s for. No contract. No money.”

“Fuck you, you ungrateful manipulating bitch–”

Jade hit the end button on her phone. She wasn’t going to listen to his curses or insults. Within a few seconds, he was calling back, but she’d had enough. She switched her phone to silent. It took a few minutes, but by the time she reached Dark Ink’s parking lot, her breath and temper were under control.

Jade wasn’t going to allow anything to ruin what was supposed to be a dream come true. Not Eric’s bad mood, or the uncertainty about her and the guys. She had been planning the tattoos she was going to get from Hannibal and Ink for almost five years.

The picture of what she wanted on her back was so vivid in her mind that if she had had any artistic ability, she would have been able to draw it up herself. When she had imagined getting this tattoo designed, she had always known that it would take both of them to make what was in her mind a reality.

Her fantasies about meeting them occasionally took an erotic turn where one or the other of them seduced her. The dream versions of the men had nothing on the reality. Admittedly, she hadn’t considered that both of them might want her at the same time.

What they had done to her body should be required teaching for any man who wanted to please a woman. They had known exactly what to do to push the pleasure into mind numbing territory. Of course, they in turn needed to take a class on how to keep a woman more than twenty-four hours.

She wasn’t saying she was definitely calling things off between them. Because the idea of more encounters like the one in her office was honestly worth a little frustration. But she had her pride.

She intended to make sure two things were clear before opening herself back up. One, that regardless of how things worked out, she could get her dream tattoo. The second was that they understood if they wanted to play more bedroom games with her, she needed to feel respected.

She might be willing to give up control to them. But in return, she expected to be treated the way she deserved. No more disappearing without a word.

Walking inside Dark Ink was slightly surreal. She had seen hundreds of photos of the place, but none of them fully captured the retro beauty that was inside the building. Chrome and black and white decorated every part of the shop. The only colors in the place were the gorgeous photos of what she imagined were some of Hannibal and Ink’s best work.

The muscled back of a man was larger than life on the wall right inside the door. The tattoo on his back, an absolutely gorgeous rendition of a motorcycle in the Colorado mountains backdrop. Arching over the scene were the words ‘Dark Sons for Life’.

Who could be the owner of that masterpiece? It would be amazing to get to meet him so she could see it in person. Photos couldn’t fully capture the beauty of a tattoo.

There were five tattoo stations in the front area of the shop. With three artists working hard on customers. A bored young woman, with almost every inch of visible skin covered in tattoos, sat at the front desk. An annoyed scowl filled her face as she took Jade in.

“Do you have an appointment?”

Jade wanted to roll her eyes at the snippy tone in the woman’s voice. She was glad her own employees had better customer service skills.

“I do. Nine o’clock with Hannibal.”

The girl glanced over to her left at a computer screen. “Hannibal’s nine o’clock is a guy named Jaden. We don’t allow appointment swaps.”

That was an odd policy. “My name is Jade. They must have written the name down wrong.”

“Well, he is expecting a guy.”

This woman had obviously not been hired for her cheery personality. Jade held out her arms in frustration. What did this woman want her to do? “As you can see, not a guy. Though I’m not sure what difference that makes in a tattoo consultation.”

The girl looked her up and down. Jade was wearing a short jean skirt and crimson scoop neck t-shirt. She wouldn’t admit it out loud. But she’d picked out the outfit specifically to show off her best assets.

The girl’s eyes finally lost a bit of hostility when she looked down and studied the vine tattoo on Jade’s leg. Her gaze followed the path of the design from her ankle until it disappeared under her clothes.

“Nice ink.”

“Thanks.”

“Jade!” Hannibal’s deep, rich tone pulled her attention away from the receptionist’s odd attention. The warmth of Hannibal’s smile relaxed something inside her.

Maybe he hadn’t been avoiding her on purpose. It had crossed her mind a few times that it was possible the guys had regretted hooking up with her. In moments, his long strides closed the distance.

She was shocked when Hannibal wrapped a hand around the back of her neck and pulled her in for a kiss. It only took a moment for his skilled mouth to start her toes curling. Jade melted into him, forgetting where they were.

The heat of his mouth on hers was intoxicating. All the stressful thoughts from the day scattered through her mind. His hand slid down her back and over the swell of her ass.

She moaned, and he pulled back from the kiss, a small smile tipping up the right side of his mouth.
