I should know everything about my family by now too.

In fact, I need to know about my family.

I need to fully understand why Archer wants me dead so bad.

Of course by doing that… he will kill me then.

Until that happens, I guess I live in this weird state of being a little bit worried and a whole lot turned on.

I decide to keep a companion with me.

No, it’s not a dog or some poisonous snake or something.

I have a knife of my own now.

Just in case.

I keep it tucked in my right sock.

It’s not the first time I’ve needed weaponry protection in my life.

Last year I had a situation with someone where I feared for my life, so I took a knife with me everywhere I went. Marty called in a favor from his dealer boss guy and next thing I knew, the person I had a problem with turned up face down near the flood gates, holding a note in their hand that readI’m sorry.

The situation was never spoken of again.

And the next time it rained the flood project thing filled with rain water, I tossed the knife into it and that was the end of that.

Now here I am with a knife in my sock again.

This time the situation is much different, obviously.

This isn’t some small poor-town losers messing around.

It’s the fucking mafia.

And I’m part of it?

I need to chase my thoughts away.

I come up with the perfect way to do just that.

It’s cool and rainy.

It’s dark.

The perfect night for a scary movie.

Maz, Birdie, and I cuddle up on the couch and turn off all the lights.

We share a bottle of vodka and eat popcorn.

It’s supposed to be perfect but there’s one problem.

Maz and Birdie suck to watch scary movies with.

“Why is she running upstairs?” Birdie asks.

“Because that’s what people do in scary movies,” Maz says.
