“Or something,” Birdie says. “Laz is next in line to run it all. That makes him part of theHeirs.”

“Heirsare all next in line to run their own family,” Maz says.

“Okay then,” I say. “We have groups where I came from but not like this. It’s usually just whores, junkies and all that. Who to score good drugs from and who to avoid because they lace it with some crazy shit.”

“Drugs,” Birdie says.

“I’m not an addict or anything,” I say.

“Good to know,” Maz says. “I guess we should figure out why you’re here, huh?”

“Actually, I’m thinking about those two cunts still,” I say.

“Brianna and Ava?” Birdie asks. “They’re horrible people.”

“Well, first off, I like your glasses,” I say to Birdie.

“Really? Thanks.”

“Also,” I say, “where I’m from, you don’t let people talk to you like that.”

“What are you thinking?” Maz asks.

“I’m thinking I need to go back there and flip their table over,” I say. “Just for good measure.”

“Have at it,” Maz says.

“Are you sure about this?” Birdie whispers to Maz.

I’m already walking back toward the table.

Both Ava and Brianna stand back up.

“Oh, here she comes again,” Brianna says.

“Please don’t get too close,” Ava says. “You smell like a dirty slut.”

I walk up to the table, grab it, and flip it.

Both Brianna and Ava cry out and step out of the way.

I then walk backwards, middle fingers up again, smiling as they stare at me with pure hatred.

“I love this girl already,” Maz says as she laughs.

“You’re going to end up paying for that,” Birdie says to me.

I shrug my shoulders.

Apparently, some tattooed hot guy wants me dead already.

Why not make some more people want to kill me too?

Chapter 5

We walk across the campus.

I’ve got Maz on my left and Birdie on my right.
