The bedroom door flies open as I turn around, wearing nothing but my bra and panties.
“Is that your attire for Cullen?” Maz asks.
“Put a shirt on,” Birdie says from behind Maz. “We have a present for you!”
Maz steps to the side and Birdie walks toward me with a stack of waffles.
I laugh and snort.
Two nights ago after a few drinks, I confessed to them I had never had homemade waffles in my life. Anytime I ate waffles they were the frozen ones that you dropped into a toaster. Or if the toaster was broken, you’d nuke them in the microwave for a few seconds.
“Homemade waffles,” Birdie says. “You survived your first week atDSC!”
“Literally,” Maz says, pointing at me.
I take a bow and laugh.
Theliterallycomment from Maz makes me shiver a little though.
Archer is everywhere yet nowhere at the same time.
Every time I try to find a way to convince myself that him wanting to kill me is just some kind of joke - it’s not. It’s not a joke at all.
Archer is convinced someone in my family killed someone in his family and his only option now is to kill me for revenge.
You’d think that would be enough to scare me into not wanting to eat or leave the dorm, right?
Nope.
I put on a shirt, sit on the floor and eat my homemade waffles.
“I really hope by the end of your second week here Cullen is eating you the way you’re eating those waffles,” Birdie says.
I look up at Birdie and flick my tongue into a syrup filled nook on the delicious waffle.
“Just like that,” Maz says. “Tip of the tongue at the clit… perfection.”
“Don’t ruin my breakfast,” I say.
“Now you’re going to be thinking about waffles, sex, and Cullen,” Birdie says. “You’re welcome.”
I laugh.
She’s not wrong.
But she’s not completely right.
She forgets to add one thing to that list.
I’m also thinking about Archer Amatti.
After every class, Cullen waits for me.
Sometimes he’s not alone.
Sometimes he just looks at me and winks.
