Worry slips away.
Next thing I know I’m giggling like crazy over anything and everything.
That’s when there’s a knock at the door.
I jump up and hurry to open it.
It’s just Archer standing there.
“Where’s Cullen?” I ask.
“Dealing withHeirshit,” he says. “Bomb threat situation is over. Lockdown is lifted. They’ll make a formal announcement in a few.”
“Okay, thanks. Now tell me what’s going on, Archer.”
“We couldn’t risk outside movement today,” he says.
“What does that mean?”
“That…thing… with Seth…”
“What thing?” I ask.
Archer sighs and leans toward me.
He lowers his mouth down to my ear. “Are you sure you want to know?”
His breath tickles my neck.
My knees almost give out again.
“I need to know,” I whisper to Archer.
“We needed the campus on lockdown,” Archer says. “Me. Cullen.”
“Why?”
There’s a pause for a few seconds.
“Seth had to take care of somebusinessfor us,” Archer says.
“Business… as in…”
Archer pulls away and looks me in the eyes.
His silence gives me the answer.
I shiver.
Seth killed someone for Cullen and Archer.
