“Seth, this show is stupid,” I whisper.
“Close your eyes, Jaci,” he says. “I’m not changing it.”
“Can we watch anything but this?”
He looks at me. “Anything?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Even if I put on some dirty videos?” Seth asks.
“Of course your mind would go to that,” I say.
“It’s a fair question. You said anything but this and…”
“I’m not watching porn with you,” I say. “Simple as that.”
“What if I take the cuffs off?”
I perk up.
I blink fast.
“What?” I ask.
“You heard me.”
“You’ll take the cuffs off my ankle if I watch a filthy movie with you?”
“What do you think?”
“I think you’re lying to me,” I say. “I think you’re going to try and get me to pick something out and then make fun of me. Or use that against me to try and get me turned on.”
Seth slides off the bed. “Fuck, Jaci, you’re smart now. Really smart. You know how to think way ahead of people now. That’s good.”
“Is it? It can’t be that good if I’ve been kidnapped by you, Seth.”
“Are you trying to say I’m bad at this?”
“Aren’t kidnappers supposed to…” I shake my head. “I’m not giving you any ideas.”
Seth laughs. “I’m leaving this show on. I’m going upstairs.”
“Now this is torture.”
“Isn’t that the point of kidnapping?”
“I didn’t get to that lesson yet in college,” I say.
“Oh, right,” Seth says. “With the rest of those rich, mafia fucks, right?”
“Is that what this is about? Because I was sent there? You know I didn’t have a choice, right? Faye’s a mess, Seth. I mean, I got out of that house just in time. You can’t imagine what she’s into.”
“I can’t?” Seth asks.
“Or…”
“Time for sleep, Jaci.”
