Slowly, I reach for the curtain.
I open my mouth to say something else but I hold it back in.
Words don’t matter now.
I start to peel the shower curtain back.
That’s when I realize I have my razor with me.
I reach back and grab it.
The hot pink handle and four precision blades are my only hope.
I take a deep breath…

I pull the shower curtain open with my left hand and thrust my right hand forward.
Archer stares back at me… and he smiles.

“Is this a game to you?” I ask.
“No, sweet thing.”
“Is this fun?”
“A little.”
“You want to see me naked that bad, Archer?”
“Who said I want to see you naked?”
“What are you doing in here then? I’m naked. I’m in the shower.”
“I just wanted to check on you, Jaci,” Archer says. “That’s all.”
“Check on me?”
“Just so you know I’m always watching out for you. Always looking. You know?”
“Is this jealousy over Seth?”
“Not even close. I’m not threatened by anyone.”
“Okay, that’s kind of sexy to hear,” I admit.
“Let me be clear about something too,” Archer says. He steps toward the shower. “If I wanted to see you naked, I could. In a heartbeat. I don’t need to sneak around and act like a perv.”
“But you are sneaking around and acting like a perv.”
“I’m just looking at you, sweet thing.”
