I grit my teeth.

Cullen grabs Archer and pulls him back.
“He’s got a gun pointed at her!” Cullen yells.
“I can take him down,” Archer says.
“You want to risk that, Archer?” Seth asks. “Try me.”
“You wouldn’t hurt her,” Archer says.
“I’ll hurt anyone I have to,” Seth says. “Especially those who hurt me first.”
“Is this because of the guy they made you kill?” I ask.
Seth laughs. “You don’t know what you’re saying, Jaci. Talking crazy.”
“You wouldn’t shoot me, Seth. You love me.”
“You’re not listening to me, Jaci. Business comes first. I thought you’d know that by now. You’re anHeir.”
“What business is this about?” Cullen asks. “Let’s settle this, Seth. You have something to say? Say it.”
“Right here,” Seth says. “This fucking room. Do you not think straight? All of you? Cullen, you weren’t there. Archer… you killed one of my best men.”
I gasp.
Archer curls his lip. “Wait. This is because of that scumbag…?”
